I’m currently trying to use in-game pathing for the first time as my main pathing, but I’m torn between whether it looks best 2 wide, 3 wide, or 4 wide! How wide do you make your paths, and which kind of path do you use?

Normally two wide, or one wide when its a bit more narrow. I've only had the need for 3 wide in very, very niche situations.

I usually do two wide since it lines up with pretty much everything and doesn't take up too much room!

Only ever 2 wide.
Sometimes 1 wide for decorative paths around ponds. But those aren't really meant to be walked on.

Imo 1 tile paths are too narrow to walk on at all.
And anything above 2 looks far too open

my paths are two-wide pretty much everywhere. they're one-wide leading to the beaches, but they're only a few squares long, and the short path leading up to my house is three-wide. i have far more one-wide paths in my NL towns, but they've never seemed necessary on my NH one.

I prefer two wide myself, but I like picking paths that I can add onto with the same tile (planks with transparency) and maybe a few accent tiles so I can adjust however I need without losing all my slots.

Mostly two wide, though my custom paths through forests and stuff can be a bit more narrow and windy (too try and make them look more natural). I also have a couple of areas with narrow walkways, where I can't fit larger ones, but need something for convenience. So I do one wide there, and use a version of "the path" that had narrow options for that purpose.

Still debating how to handle paths in my citycore island, though! I just started it, but we'll have to see what kind of sidewalks work best, and how I'll handle roads! But it's kind of a fun "problem" to have, I'm excited to test different things out~

Generally two-wide as well! As others have said, it matches up with the bridges, and also it means you can curve the edges (which I can't do with one wide obviously).

The main exception is near the plaza, where I have a path maybe four or more wide to make it into some kind of large entrance path (from the airport to the plaza). I also have a one-wide dirt path in the forest-y area. 😊

My paths are always two wide. One seems to small. More then that and they seems to big.

Two wide. I used the brick since it was closest in appearance to the one on resident services and I made all the paths start from there.

Usually two, except when it doesn't feel wide enough, then I add more until it does.

I normally make my paths two pieces wide, however there are a few "awkward" places on my island where they could be a path of one or three. So it all depends. Never 4 though, I feel like that's just way too much.

I usually do 2 wide, but in areas where it needs a little more I'll do 3 wide! I'm just got terraforming on my new island yesterday, so this was something I was thinking about, haha.

I do two wide that way I can get around villagers if I happen to have the path lined with a fence or shrubs. Sometimes I may make it wider near a building or bridge though.

I do 2 wide around stairs to align the path, and try to keep them wider in other areas for maximum mobility! I think this ends up limiting what I can do with terraforming because I try to avoid narrow areas, but it makes it so much easier to run around my island without getting bounced around trying to squeeze into small gaps.
