I would be really shocked if they took holidays away in the new game. I mean, holidays have been a staple for quite a few games now. I can understand them taking certain features away, but not staples. The switch is capable of so much, it would be stupid to take holidays away. Besides, I think Nintendo knows that they are fairly popular events among fans. I would hope they do, anyway.
I doubt they'll remove the major holidays like halloween, christmas, easter, etc..
I do hope that add a bunch more made up holidays and festivals to keep everyone engaged with the game
I think all the holidays we know from New Leaf are available here too, like I don't see a reasons why
they should remove them just because you are now at a new location. After all, your goal is to bring
life into this desert island and holidays fitting perfectly into that plan, by celebrating with all your new
friends and having fun which makes the island alive. And I could imagine that the more your island is
developed, the better the holidays are getting.
Has any new Animal Crossing release even revealed how holidays are handled in the game? I think it's fair to say they will be handled like they always are.
I think the holidays will be just the same, maybe even more with tons of stuff do to then in the previous games. I don't think Nintendo would just take them out for no apparent reason. I would love it if they put in even more little holidays in such as the ones from Wild World. The more the better if you ask me, but I still think they will be handled the same.
Hopefully we can choose which events/holidays our town celebrates, as another layer of customization and inclusiveness. I know several people whom are... A little too religious for their own good and absolutely detest Halloween to the point of being rude to others that wish them a happy Halloween. Giving people like that the option of not having the event celebrated in their town would be cool.
I was actually just about to make a thread about this and then I saw this one, so this eliminates a task for me, haha! Thanks!
I really am curious too. I'd also like to ask this question for everyone: do you think region-specific holidays, like there were in City Folk and New Leaf, will make a return?
There's no way major holidays are removed from the series. It just doesn't make sense.
Haven't seen this mentioned but in the Nintendo Direct trailer during the winter scene you can see Christmas lights on the fir trees. This is further proof holidays will be incorporated.
I doubt they'll be unlockable, that wouldn't make sense. I'm sure they're still there as winter shows the lights in the cedar trees and the wreaths on the doors, plus we have the return of the cherry blossom season, so it's looking promising so far.
