For as long as the animal crossing series had been around it has never had an open world enviroment like zelda botw
it has always been taking place in a single town.

What I would like to see are huge natural enviroments and large buildings all taking place in an open world for the player to explore with no boundaries. Weather effects like thick fog during fall and blizzards during the winter should also be present. In conclusion I expect it to look very realistic and open to explore

May I ask what you mean by a "very realistic" look? You mean that the human characters are
looking like the humans that are live in New Donk City in Super Mario Odyssey? Or something
like the live-action Detective Pikachu movie? I highly doubt that they will ever make a more
realistic looking Animal Crossing game. After all, it's known for being a more cartoon-ish
looking game and to be honest I can't imagine a very realistic looking AC game at this point.
And like Snowesque, I'm also expecting it to be slightly better looking than Pocket Camp.

Also not sure if they would make it open world like and how this should work. Maybe more
areas to explore but not 100% open world.

I expect it'll look similar to the mario kart 8 track, or at least I hope so! In essence, the familar AC looks with much more elaborate scenery and animations.

I can only pray it wil look like the MarioKart 8 track omg that would be amazing.

I'm hoping for more a more immersive world that's hi-def but still retains the cartoony charm we love

I'm hoping that the game has the same style as Pocket Camp, though I think they could do a lot more with dynamic lighting. I liked the way that dynamic lighting was done in AC:GCN, but I think they could really make the world within the game more immersive in this way.

I love the AC Mario Kart 8 track and if the new game would look like this... That would be fantastic.
I hope they gonna do this at this point.

I'm expecting it to look a lot like Pocket Camp. I predict they will end up using a lot of PC's assets in this game, so it would pretty much have to be similar. I don't expect some major graphical overhaul.

To be honest, I don't think I would like having some massive open world like in Breath of the Wild. That's not what Animal Crossing is about, at least for me. If I wanted BOTW, I would just play BOTW. Animal Crossing has always been a more cozy environment. That's not to say I wouldn't support having a larger town though. Just not anything too crazy.

I guess generally more detail than Pocket Camp. Better lighting effects and shadows.

I'm hoping for the graphics of the MK8 track. Higher quality Shading and Lighting. Also, I would like an upgrade for the grass textures in all seasons.

But the problem with this is that Animal Crossing isn't at all about exploring????

Why would they ever go with an open world approach for a life simulation game like Animal Crossing?

Try Sims 3 on Wii and you'll experience how terrible that concept is.

I think that the graphics will look very similar to the Plaza Wii U game and Amiibo Festival, as well as Pocket Camp. I don't expect the towns to get much larger.

My hope is that it will look like in MK8 with a semi-open world. I desperately want to get away from the boxed in villages we've had in every game so far. As for artstyle, I hope that they go with the New Leaf/Pocket Camp style but updated to current gen.

This. Please, please PLEASE this. I keep playing that track, just to stare at the scenery while drooling. I don?t think it?d quite be the view point that you get from Mario Kart, but the way the sky looks, and the trees, and I?m just gonna keep rambling about things people already know about here, so disregard me.

But I imagine it will look quite lovely.

Okay you can kill me for this, but I’d hate it if the graphics were like or exactly like Mario Kart 8’s. It’s too unrealistic for a game like Animal Crossing in my eyes.

But what I do hope is that it would be a super detailed Pocket Camp.

i really want it to keep the animal crossing look. i don't want something like the animal crossing course in mario kart 8 ):
