i have a question

when i get New horizons.... will i have to download the updates that have already happened for the game *you know, the summer update & what-not*

or will they be on the game already?

I'm not 100% confident but I believe the game will download an update as soon as you try to start the game for the first time.

If you're buying the game from a store, it has probably been sitting on shelves in warehouses and such for at least a little while. The chances of it not being the latest version are pretty high there.

Digital download versions will probably just download everything at once, but don't quote me on that. (It will have to download everything either way! )

Your switch should tell you if there is an update available the moment you launch the game, but if it doesn't (and your game is not on version 1.4.1) you can do it manually by pressing + on the game on the home menu, then going to "Software Update" and selecting "Via the Internet". Normally it just works automatically though. ^^

if youre not online u cant update...... even if i go online it doesnt make me update i have to choose too.. but if i try to connect with someone it makes me update...

I don't think the updates need to be a factor when choosing physical vs digital. My copy is a physical one and I barely noticed the updates. Time time you'll take downloading and installing the updates is probably the same for both.

Don't quote me on this but I don't think you need a Nintendo Online membership to update the game, just a connection to the Internet.

you're right... it's automatically downloading the updates right now ^^
