I miss that island escape game!

At this point no one knows what the plans for NH are for the future. There are several very good guesses based on past data mines, but for the time being nintendo is being very tight lipped about any future plans, if any, that they may or may not have for the game.

For now probably not but don't lose hope!
I don't know if you noticed but if you go the airport, in the top left corner there's a map of your island.
And on the map there's a section (usually top left) where there's another island across the sea.
I'm really hoping that's going to be the mini game island!
We'll see with the future updates :) There going to keep updating for another 2 years so!

We know nothing at all of their plans for the future. We have reason to speculate things like brewster from datamines, however that's it.

Hopefully they add some minigames to play with friends so that we have something to actually do with friends.
But I have no expectations of such things.

I wouldnt get my hopes up.

There going to keep updating for another 2 years so!
We don't actually know how long they plan on putting updates out for the game.
The multiple years thing is a misunderstanding of when they said this before the games release:
"So as far as the actual details and planning of the updates, we’re still working on it. We want you to wait for further details to be announced. But I can definitely say that I’m really sure there will be an update and this includes Bunny Day for April. Animal Crossing is a game where you’re able to enjoy seasonal changes throughout the year, and it syncs with real time and through that you are able to basically sync your real life with the game. We want to make sure that in two years or three years down the road, players will still continue to find new surprises in the game. So we hope to create an update that you can do that with."

So theoretically that could mean one big update since they said "an update that you can do that with" instead of multiple updates across multiple years.

It could also be a bit more lame and just mean that people might not notice everything the first time around and on their second year of playing realise there was a season item they missed or they missed out on a seasonal DIY.

They've also been adding more seasonal items so this is all they might have meant.

They also said 2 to 3 years. And since the game has been out for 1 year and 5 months, we might only have 7 months left.

And then there is that they said it was a "hope". They never promised anything meaning that we can't actually believe they will follow through on it.

I dont mean to be all pessimistic, but I do think its important for people to know that we really might not get all that much more added to the game.

There hasn’t been any mention but anything is possible. I felt like the May Day event where we had to find Rover were mini game like. Maybe in the future it’ll be an option.

Yes! I never spent too much time on Welcome Amiibo but I've sure put some hours into that game. Overall NL had some fantastic minigames (I know this one came from Amiibo Festival though).

I'm honestly more of an Animal Crossing: Puzzle League guy, personally... but then again, I can play Panel De Pon on the SNES Online app. I can't play Desert Island Escape on the Switch yet, or any other kind of minigame for that matter. Hopefully that's going to change at some point in the future, but there's no definite evidence about it right now. It'd be nice to have some NES and SNES-styled minigames as well, if only to give us NES and SNES items in-game. But I'd generally want Nintendo consoles as items in-game anyway, so I'm not fussy.

On a related note, going by what @Rosch has said: I think I've said this before here, but I am ultimately worried they're going to have to cut off making updates for the game before they've managed to add everything they wanted to add. We know there's been some kind of delay going by the fact we've hit a space of 5-7 months of very little new things added, so I'm hoping that Nintendo will allow the devs to compensate for that delay by giving them some more time to make the things they want to make... which is ultimately dependent on whether the game continues to sell well.

However, I DO think it's going to continue to be supported at least until the Switch's final year, I just don't know whether that's in 2023, 2024 or even 2025!

The DIE game was added to New Leaf with the Welcome Amiibo update 3 years after the release of New Leaf. Knowing this, it's possible we'll see something similar in 2023 perhaps? 🤔

Yep, DIE definitely didn't exist when I first played NL. When I went back to it years later it was there. So who knows!

I love the under the hood changes to NH, but the lack of content is deeply disappointing. I wish they’d inject a lot of the content NL had. NH has made a boatload of money for Nintendo, there isn’t much reason not to. I played NL feverishly for months. I feel liked I’ve peaked with NH after about a month. I find myself missing many aspects of NL.

I used to love going on the boat to the island I used to have my friends visit my town and we go together to the island. I remember we used to stay up really late till we all got the medals we wanted for the items in the island shop :)

This, and also we'd all try and meet on the Club Tortimer islands by selecting the option of meeting people from "only from our country", which at the time of night we were playing was basically just us and the occasional randomer haha.

Though we kept running into this one weirdo who hated females and said awful things about us, but would try sex talk all the males :/ He was a bit odd, but he became a bit of a meme to us. Wyatt was his name. I wonder if he still lurks there now hahahaha

Animal Crossing New Horizons is sort of an Island Escape Game in itself, if you really think about it...

However I really do miss it as well. Tons of fun playing with amiibo and such!

What Games do you mean?

It's called "Desert Island Escape". It's a mini game added with the Welcome Amiibo update. When you place the Wii U furniture item in your house, it will give you the option to play it.

Wondering if there are any plans to bring back any sort of minigames like this that are known of at least? was so much fun!
I say this all the time! I have my fingers crossed for an updated version of this to come to NH. (Some people assume DIE was a hint at what NH was going to be, so perhaps a new minigame will hint at what the next installment of AC will be).

I actually just loaded up a new team and did Beginner islands 1 and 2 yesterday (Curlos, Kapp'n and Midge for a challenge :) )
