-Apples-
“Assorted” Collector
Yep, it's the 3rd or 8th entry out of every ten entries. You know what that means? It's time for another idea entry.
Today's idea is not going to be a lot, but it's all about chatting with animals (and humans too).
There isn't much to talk about this time, but the idea is to go back to the Gamecube version, with a few NL touches. Remember back when you talked to a villager, they had three options. One is to ask for a chore, as another is to see what they have to say. The third option is to decline in talking, which does nothing but end conversation. That made chatting in the Gamecube version more fun, but when it changed in Wild World, it wasn't as fun as it was. Now they blend chores with plain chat.
In my game idea, here's what options you get when you chat as YOU grab for their attention:
When you grab for the villagers' attention, you can do this as many times as you want with a human character, but you have a maximum of 15 times you can do this to an animal within a 90-minute period. If you have good Feng Shui or have good luck on friendships or relationships with the Luck Ordinance active, you have a maximum of 20. If you have bad luck on friendships or relationships on the Luck Ordinance, 10 times is your maximum. However, if they try to grab for your attention, it doesn't count.
When you talk to a villager, they would be delighted to see you until three away from the maximum. When you get to your 13th chat (or 8th or 18th, depending on the situation), you start getting a warning. Three times, and you still talk to them, they will stop and be stuck thinking, saying that they're too busy.
When THEY try grabbing for your attention, here's what they ask for:
Human villagers won't try to grab for your attention, but they would still have conversations with other humans.
That's all for this idea. Next up: starting a new town.

In my game idea, here's what options you get when you chat as YOU grab for their attention:
- Have any project suggestions? - this is the option where you can get your villagers to suggest PWPs. This option is only visible when your mayor is currently in use. In addition, you can only get one suggestion per animal PER day, you can get three suggestions maximum per day (more than three if you don't mind time traveling), one suggestion per day from the same personality, and they don't have a suggestion every day.
- Can I help you? - this is an option where you can ask for chores. They are mostly deliveries, item requests (such as fruit or fish), and visit requests (either you to visit their house or they to visit your house). Sometimes, they will ask for chores that differ to what's above. If you have a lost item, something to deliver, or have a delivery accomplished, this option will be replaced. If no chore is available, they'll say that they don't have any.
- What's up? - this is an option where you can make some conversations. Some of them would ask for your items or if they want to give you something, but others are about other things that don't use your pockets (like when they ask for your favorite foods or if they know someone well). If you're talking to a human villager (alternative character), they may talk about their items and achievements too. If you're talking to your mayor, he/she may talk about items too, but also about work.
- Nothing - this will terminate your conversation immediately.

When THEY try grabbing for your attention, here's what they ask for:
- Greeting change
- Catchphrase change
- Nickname
- Time capsule
- PWP request (mayor only)
- Useless question
