It's not the best RPG ever.
Good job, that definitely added to the discussion! The fact that you also mentioned what the best RPG is also helps boost discussion. AND I am sure that you played Illusion Of Gaia before. You wouldn't talk about it if you haven't played it, eh? Of COURSE not.......
I don't think you need to play it to say that it's not the best RPG ever. After all if it was, it would obviously be a lot more popular. Secondly, you can't make an opinion and expect everyone to accept it as a fact.

The first thing isn't true. There's such a thing as "overlooked game", is there not? I love niche games, this isn't a hidden fact, and Illusion Of Gaia isn't getting its due.

Calling it the best RPG is way overboard and there's a difference between the best RPG and your favorite RPG.

Overboard? Try playing it, dude. I bet you haven't, nor have practically any members of TBT.

Like I said, it doesn't matter because it's just as impossible for you to call it the best RPG ever.

(you didn't actually say that, but implied it when replying to SN's post)

Well, in my opinion, nothing comes close. Maybe if you played it, you'd understand. I am in the process of telling tons of people about ActRaiser at NSider, and dozens of people are heeding my word. They are all downloading it and all loving it, helping me tell everyone about it.

Illusion Of Gaia is no different. I'll also spread the word about it... Hopefully it gets a VC release soon.

D:

You sound like a religious cultist.

Picked up this game today. I had it when I was younger, but don't remember what ever happened to it. Haven't played it since my earlier years, but I'm about to give it a play in a while. Got it for $5.

Oh, my God. $5? That, my friend, is a bargain.

:D
It was really marked as $9, but the ink on the sticker looked to be a little faded, so that's probably why I only got charged $5 for it. The used book store I got it from is really chill, they're not up-tight with anything. I would've been happy with only paying $9 for it, but heh, the $4 save was nice.

About an hour and a half into the game now.. I'm enjoying it. The difficulty is keeping me satisfied and a little frustrated at times, but yes, definitely a nice RPG. How simple the dialogue//text is kinda annoys me. :\
