New Leaf will always have a very special place in my heart.
I?m still excited for switch. The waiting is killing me!

I feel you on this...... I'm so ready though I check every single day for news .... it's so bad lmaoooo

While New Leaf is one of my favorite AC games and I also spent lots of time into it, to
be honest, I will pretty much "forget" this game once the new AC is out. See, whenever
there is a new Animal Crossing game, I abandon the older one in favor of the newer one.
That was the case with Wild World and City Folk and then City Folk and New Leaf. Right
now, I already stopped playing New Leaf, as I don't have a 3DS anymore and also lost
interest in it.

But yeah, I'm also very excited for the Switch game. Really hope Nintendo will give us
some informations about it soon. At least the title would be nice, since I can't really
imagine how the new game will be called.

I can sure relate to what you are saying!

My first AC game was City Folk and I loved it so much! I had never played Animal Crossing on a portable device and thought that experience could never be as good, because everything would be tiny in comparison. So, before its release I was not happy about ACNL being on the 3DS.

Despite that, I ended up liking ACNL even more than ACCF, something that I never would have guessed. I don't play ACCF any more, mostly because when I do, I miss the Beautiful Town Ordinance, and the PWP's.

This week I bought 90 amiibo cards and I don't even know if they will function with AC-2019. I just wanted them so much, and I plan to enjoy them with ACNL. I think it will be a while before AC-2019 is released, and so I am all set to enjoy the weeks/months between now and then, playing ACNL intensively and using my new amiibo cards with it. I also bought a Switch so I am all set for when AC-2019 is released.

I can't predict the future but plan to have a lot of Animal Crossing fun, whether with ACNL, AC-2019, or both.

The new AC doesn't need to replace New Leaf. For me, NL will always be special as it was the first AC I played, but personally I am ready to move on, as long as they don't mess up the series with the new game.

I lost interest in New Leaf ages ago. While it will always be one of my favorite games, after playing it everyday straight for several years, I just got tired of the same thing over and over. I’m really looking forward to AC switch because we'll finally be getting some new content :,D

I don't mind the wait at all; it's refreshing to actually get a finished game in the market once in a while.

just you wait. day one release patch and annual paid dlc

though somewhat more seriously, my personal thoughts regarding animal crossing switch are.... strange to say the least. mostly due to my lack of a switch and inability to get one anytime soon. so while I'm certainly intrigued by what it could bring to the series, I also can't even bother to muster an ounce of excitement

really, this has applied across the board for pretty much all switch titles, and to a somewhat broader extent, games in general. loved, for example, seeing all the stuff smash ultimate gave us; but I also can't get invested in it beyond that

I'm super excited for the Ac switch game. I've been playing New Leaf since day one, and while I still LOVE it, I'm ready for something new. I'm hoping an animal crossing switch console will come out, I really debated getting the pokemon one but I decided to just hold off on the chance it'll come out.

LambdaDelta

Haha, I think patches are to be expected (especially since Welcome Amiibo) and I don't mind DLC.
I was thinking more of how a fair bit of games now a days are just total graphical and mechanical messes upon release or have game-changing updates shortly within their release. If you're familiar with Klei games they unfortunately have this problem; great in concept but there's just not enough time to work it out.

I played it for 5 years straight. Accomplished pretty much everything. I thought I would feel the same way since I aimed to get a gold badge in every category on the TPC, but gave up on that after I realized that ever getting a street pass badge was impossible. I have all other badges, with most of them being gold. I'm done. I haven't played for the past 1-2 years much at all. Pocket Camp held me over for few months before I gave up on it because it's boring. This game needs to come really soon, I'm feeling the empty void in my heart.

I agree to an extent. See, New Leaf is my favourite game but I don't have motivation to play it ):

i'm the same way!! i'm super excited for the switch game, but i think i'll always be playing new leaf. it also helps that there's three others in my house who'll want to play it, and only one switch. so i'll probably be 'forced' to play new leaf while they're playing the newer one lol

I really love acnl, but I'm also really excited to see what's next for animal crossing. Plus, I'm curious what kind of new villagers they may add for this new game.

Im sooo excited but nervous/anxious about it. Like im gonna be so happy to see the new things, but scared about what they add or didn't fix (house placement btw)... Im gonna be overwhelmed at first. I know we wnt be disappointed.

I will miss new leaf also but once Animal Crossing for the switch comes out I know I won?t miss it as much. They will add so much that new leaf will most likely not compare!! Just as long as the switch game is a true main installment, and not more of a side game. I?ve been waiting forever for this :)

I haven't played WW since CF came out. I haven't played CF since NL came out. I expect the pattern to continue.

This pretty much. I left NL for a while but the excitement of the AC Switch announcement got me into playing it again. Once the actual game is released I'm sure I'll be too busy playing that to check up on my NL town. So that's why I'm playing my NL town as much as I can before that hah.
