Hey all, something has bothered me since yesterday. I decided to boot up my Switch to play Animal Crossing New Horizons, only for it to be snowing. I was really confused, as the last time I played was only a month ago with the in game clock taking place in June. For some weird reason, I went into Settings and it said my clock was set to January something even though I never set it that way. Another thing is that today I opened my old 3DS I had since around 2011ish, and the same exact thing happened. It was snowing in-game, checked the system clock and it reset to January 1st, 2011. Why? I really want to know why this is happening.

This happens when you do not charge/switch on a console for a long time. To the best of my knowledge it's due to the battery being completely depleted so it cannot regulate time.
Ohh, that actually makes a lot of sense. Thank you @Vrisnem!

I changed the dates back, and everything was the way it was again! 😄
