I am in a bit of a crisis here so I would really like some help. I left some loose cash on the living room table last night, about $20. I was really tired and I forgot to put it back in my purse. The next day morning I could not find it anywhere. I searched all over the house. The reason why i am suspecting a burglary is because we had a break in the neighborhood last month where the burglars made it off with a car stereo system and an iphone. I am looking for an alarm system, I have shortlisted a few security alarm installation companies but I would like to get suggestions from someone who has already got an alarm system installed. Price really does not matter I just don't want it to be insanely expensive.I would also like to get live streams in my computer.Any thoughts on this would be great.

ADT is really popular where I used to live but it seems like you're in Canada. Sorry, I'm not sure about any good Canadian companies. Did you check the locks on your windows and doors? Did anything look broken or tampered with? I would start by changing your door lock. Someone may have made a copy from a previous resident or something. We had a break in many years ago. They broke the lock on the back of the sliding door. Luckily, nothing big was taken (we didn't have much things of value anyway). The first thing the cops told us was to change our door lock, even though they had come in through the sliding window in the backyard.

I would definitely look for signs of tempering first and note whether anything else was taken. If you moved in somewhere and didn't change the locks you should do that. If you live in an apartment voice your concerns to your landlord.

If only $20 was taken from your place I guses I don't see why you'd jump to a security system.

I'm assuming you live alone right? I'd definitely check locks on both windows and doors and check for anything else missing. I'd check to see anything out of place that looked like someone was in there.

I'm really sorry that happened to you! I'd talk to your landlord and see if you can change the locks or like you said, get an alarm system of some kind. "It's only $20," sure, but it could be something else next time.
