Is anyone else not really a huge fan of the OST?

It's alright. Definitely didn't enjoy it when hearing it alone from the datamine, but it's grown on me a lot after hearing it in game. Still think WW/CF's OST is the best, but this one isn't as bad as I originally thought.

can't lie i miss the quicky music, old OST's were FUN... the hourly music this time around sounds too similar to each other to differentiate and idk, too island-ish? i don't know how to describe but it feels very different from other franchises.
i enjoy 5pm a lot though.

when i turn the radio on or visit villager houses and hear the older KK songs, i realize how iconic the old songs were. i'm sure some new ones would grow on me though, it's relatively new. i'm just saying, i liked the old OST straight off the bat.

on that note, how could people hate new leaf music wtf they were so creative, different instruments and vibe every hour and hearing them now just gives me the nostalgic feels

It's acceptable. I didn't heard the whole OST so far (like I still need to listen the night tunes), but what I heard already sounds okay. Honestly, I mostly play the game without the sound on, as I hear music, so yeah... The OST is not really a important thing here for me.

I like it just because it reminds me of the funkier GameCube version, but what I don’t like is the song the villagers sing by default. I have no idea why but it just grates on me haha

I don’t think it feels the same as the older games but I really like it still! it really fits the vibe of NH and certain tracks make me feel emotional still, especially 6pm ;-;

I like the soundtrack. It has a similar jazzy Charlie Brown/Peanuts cartoon vibe of the original game, just updated.

I wasn’t at first, it was definitely jarring with all the new instruments and I thought it felt out of place. It’s growing on me a lot though, day by day. It suits the pace of this game, it keeps me motivated to mine my island for resources and build new stuff

i kinda like it, i'm a fan of all the daytime tracks but i'll have to listen to the evening ones more.

i remember disliking new leaf's music compared to wild world when it first came out, so i'll give this ost time to grow on me.

Some of them are okay. Some of the tracks are flat out terrible, from what I can remember, the worst are 2PM and especially 6PM.

I absolutely love 12pm.

Some of them are meh, like 10AM and 3PM, but I think a lot of it is okay and some of it is pretty good (5PM, 5AM, etc.)

7PM is my jam. Funny coincidence but new leaf's 7PM was also my favorite.

My least favourite out of the series but I still like it. Favourites are things like 4PM, 6PM, 7PM, 12AM, 12PM, 7AM.
I hate 3AM. When I hear it it drives me mad. I usually just turn it off since it's late anyway so thankfully it plays really late.
Not a fan of the new 11PM or 1AM either, WW and NL did those much better.

I have to admit I didn't like GC's late night themes so NH still does better in those respects, but the morning and evening themes in GC are top tier (5PM, 7PM, 8PM, 9PM).

Some are okay, some I'd rather not hear. But that was the case with most AC games for me.

I loooove the early morning and late night themes though, which is nice because that's usually when I have time to play on weekdays c:

I'm not wild for it, but I do like it better than NL's! I think it has a better approach to the minimalistic sound that NL was going for while being more exciting, but I do understand those who don't like it because it's just variations on the main theme.

I know it's supposed to change based on the seasons, so hopefully the others will be more to your guys' liking!

This was something I was thinking while I was playing earlier. It definitely tries to underscore the fact that you're on an island, which isn't bad, but it does get tiresome.

ACGC's will always be my favorite OST. o:

I like it, but I definitely prefer the soundtracks of New Leaf and Wild World.

I despise 2PM, and that's when I find myself playing the most. And it's the one that gets stuck in my head :/

I really enjoy the fishing tourney soundtrack! Also, the track that plays 10 minutes before Nook's Cranny closes is a soothing orchestral piece that I love.

I'm really glad that the music is so quiet compared to the sound effects in the game (running around, mainly) and that the OST cuts out even for a few seconds when you catch a critter.

To be fair it's relaxing enough for me to listen to all of it through a playlist on YT , and some definitely grow on me, but I loved the creativity of the previous games songs. The songs in NH don't sound like they were given much care when they were being made

yes oh god 10am was meh and it was the first song that played when i finally unlocked the hourly music and i was like yikes

i figured they'll make it sound fitting for an island, though i thought it was tiresome too and considering that we waited for the music i was expecting something (during the tutorial period I WAS OVER THE SAME MUSIC) but yes i can't wait for the other seasons.
