Is anyone here going to actually use the local 4 person multiplayer?

It looks kinda? Cool. I mean it might be a little clunky looking and annoying if someone wants to fish while the other one wants to catch bugs, but I guess it be cool.

I personally don?t feel like I?m missing out on much but choosing not to use it and I?m wondering if anyone here plans to.

Nope.
I will play with myself, and my wife.

That sounded kinda weird.

Probably a little with my boyfriend who doesn't want to buy the full game. But I'll be using online where possible :)

I think the local co-op is an absolute mess and I'd be devastated if I had to use it. The screen is way to small for four players and the teleporting makes it even worse. If you don't follow the first player wherever he or she is heading instantly, you're just teleported somewhere else (it should first zoom out a bit, just like in Mario Bros. games). It's confusing tbh.

Also, at the PAX demo, one player tried catching a fish, then the first player did something that caused a speech bubble to appear right where the fish was so that the other player couldn't even see if it bit. It's just awful game design.

Glad that there's still another option for multiplayer.

Nope, just looking at it gives me a headache.

I don't like sitting in one spot and waiting for the leader to move.

No, I wouldn't use it either. Honestly, restricting players to a space is meh

Nope!

I think I'd go bonkers trying to play that way! Things like this are why we saved up and got everyone in our house a switch lite for Christmas. We can all do what we want without all of that nonsense!

no, not unless i get another switch and play with myself lmao. i don't know anyone else who plays animal crossing, in fact i only know one other person who even has a switch.

Yes! I will be using this feature and it's a great feature for me. I share my village already and now we can finally all be together in the game at one time. I have young children I will be sharing my island with, and this allows us to play all together at once - which also makes it easier for me to guide them. I also will be using this feature with my fianc? - I always wish I had the ability to just tag along with him while he does things.

I'm just gonna play with my twin sister ☆
I don't have any friends apart from my family (๑^ڡ^๑)☆︎

It looks a bit frustrating, but I'm going to use it with my girlfriend so we could play together. Ideally we'd play online on different switches, but we spent all of our spending money on concert tickets. I hope that it's not as annoying as it looks!

Nope, I?ll just be playing by myself or just with online.

I might with my boyfriend, since he won't get the game for himself.

But also, just because I've seen people confusing the two, couch co-op isn't the same as local wireless play - if your friends have their own Switches and copies of the game, you'll be able to play together normally and won't have to play like this or connect online. The shared screen is just if you're playing together on one Switch, like if you have to share a Switch with your siblings.

I want to try it out with my mom at least once since she likes New Leaf and Pocket Camp.

Yeah, I plan on using it with my family and a couple of my friends! I think it's a cool idea, it does look a bit awkward in places but I feel like if you're playing with people you know well then you'll have a better flow with working together and can talk through which direction to go in, etc, and you'll probably play at the same time to do certain specific activities anyway.

Yeah the online functionality seems a lot more user friendly.

I play with my little sister and share a switch. ( ' v ' )

I’m glad y’all have an option to play with people in the same household, I just wish they optimized it a bit better for y’all.

I will deffinitely use it. My wife likes AC but we don't have two consoles so every now and then we will use it.

I don't plan on using local play. Only because no one else in my household doesn't play ac.
