Is anyone here going to actually use the local 4 person multiplayer?

Is online multiplayer up to 8 players? I feel like I'll get a lot more use out of that.

Yes and no. It's technically up to 4, but there can be an additional 4 local players divided among them.

maybe if i want to take a group photo with an alt i make lol

everyone i know irl has their own switch

I'll use it to carry more items fill my main characters pockets with stuff then make another character the leader and fill their pockets with stuff :p

No, pretty sure online supports up to 8 players. Local is restricted to 4.

I?ll probably try it out at some point, but I doubt I?ll use it regularly. The people that I plan on playing the game with will all have a copy of their own anyway.

Oof so many negatives ;v;

I'm looking forward to using it with my bf! Don't think there would be an issue with following each other around at all

Your gameplay becomes limited (especially since you share joyons according to E3) The only use you could get out of it is weeds picking and maybe watering plants.

Talking to villagers is a 1 person thing, so the other person will get bored. It's useless for fishing as who wants to share fish? Same for bugs. Basically, you run through your chores, and money making while your bf does nothing but watch while making a character follow you. That sounds depressing.

I don't remember where they said it, but but I believe Nintendo confirmed it's 4 players with 4 local. I'll go see if I can find it.

My husband is interested in trying to get into Animal Crossing again. He hasn't played since the Gamecube game and he didn't care for it. Even if he has fun we don't think he'll get as into it as me, so it probably won't feel worth buying 2 Switches, 2 games, and getting 2 online accounts just to play together. So yes - we'll play local.

On the official site, underlined for you to see a little quicker:

Probably not. I don?t have friends who play the game. My brother is thinking of getting the game though, so I?m sure if he does get it, I?ll play with him.

I'll be using it. I've got 3 children younger than 9 that all want to play. I'll have to get two copies of the game so I can play on my AC:NH Switch while they play on our Neon Switch.

Nope. I don’t really play games with anyone in real life, and my town tends to be a solo affair. (I’m still debating whether I’ll eventually add a second character or not; I never have before, but I’ve been contemplating doing so in ACNL for a while.) Mostly, co-op makes me nostalgic and a little sad about how long it’s been since I actually had someone to play games with (probably at least 15 years, maybe longer).

Co-op options are nice to have, but I find them frustrating when Nintendo forces certain design decisions to accommodate them (e.g., single joy-con play, etc.). I haven’t seen anything disruptive associates with co-op mode in ACNH, though.

Yes to couch play with my little sister. She doesn't really like playing alone but its hard on the ds when shes in her town and I'm in mine

I will be! My boyfriend isn't really into the game, but with how much I talk about it, I've made him want to play. I think for two people, it's not that bad. I wouldn't mind following him around while he did his little routine or whatever. Plus he could help me fish, catch bugs, etc to make extra bells lol

I will. My mom is wanting to play so I’m glad we can actually play together.

I won't, I don't know anyone who plays this game. I will play online though.

Not me. I play solo. That's fine with me...watching that feature in the Pax videos exhausted me.

i'll be using to play with my sister now and then, but i have a feeling we'll both be wanting to just take turns playing solo instead when we can.

I might try it with my partner just to check it out, otherwise I will be using the regular online features.
