Is anyone here going to actually use the local 4 person multiplayer?

Ima say it, I hope I don’t come off crazy but I think a 2 player split screen would have been the move here. Someone fishes while someone works on their garden or whatever *chef kiss*
I’m not sure what 4 people are gonna do without mini-games of some sort. It even seemed, at pax, they were running around, running out of things to do. But I don’t have all the information, That was a controlled demo, I hope to be proved wrong!

I might only do it if any friends want to. I'll probably have my own self made human villagers for aesthetic so I'd have my friends use those

Nope. It's an utter mess of a feature. Nintendo just crammed in the game because they could. It really ruins nearly all mechanics of the game. It looks like the only time it could be useful is if you have really young children who share a Switch. I mean young as in they don't even know how to progress in the game. It'll keep the children busy as they only care about playing games on the switch.

If I can find an advantage for it, I'll do it with myself since I own a pro controller.

Not a single person I know plays this game. So that will be a no.

Originally I thought I would have to in order to play with my bf but then he got a switch lite and we changed from a physical preorder to a digital one so that we could both play together without that restriction of having a leader.

I understand why they did this and it makes a lot of sense rather than having split screens everywhere but it just... doesn't seem as fun to me :c

That’s one of the features I loved about New Leaf, the ability to make your town as you choose. I’m not thrilled to be sharing my island with my partner or anyone for that matter. My partner and I have different tastes and with that, I will mostly likely be buying a Switch Lite so we can have our own islands.

Nah, four people on one screen sounds exhausting. But personally I prefer to have an island for myself, working on an island with other people sounds like fun but I'd also have one for myself - though no one irl wants to play NH.

I don't have anyone to play with locally so no. I could probably only get my closest friend to hold a game controller for about 5 minutes.

Is online multiplayer up to 8 players? I feel like I'll get a lot more use out of that.

i might with only one other person because then it's not 4 total people wanting to do their own things. i wish that if you used local multiplayer while docked you could have splitscreen

nope, doesn't look appealing at all to me. From all the PAX footage it just looks kinda sluggish :(

I'll probably end up doing it if my husband decides he doesn't really like playing the game, but he still wants to play with me sometimes.

honestly, i won't lmao. just like others have said, it's just a bit too messy and confusing.
the only reason i'd use it is to play with my little brother. i doubt we'd play it a lot together though- he's like 8 and might think it's boring (he's more into minecraft, roblox, halo, etc. he has adhd, and i think ac is a bit too like... calm? lol.)

i will definitely be using multiplayer though!

Nope. None of my family cares for video games aside from me. Solo all the way! Except for online.

not me, since i don’t know anyone irl who likes animal crossing lmao
