Whenever I go to the island to make money I catch almost 10 golden stags in that time, they're supposed to be really rare but on most nights they come to me really easily.like maybe every 5/20 beetles will be a GS.

I ususally see 2? Maybe catch one, they fly away really easily! If you aren't already sneaking they are gone by the time they are in your view.

I usually catch 5 or so for every round of farming. I guess having so few trees and running around constantly for respawns helps.

There always seem to be quite a few of them on my island too. (I end up accidentally scaring most of them away though. )

Also, this might be a little off topic, but just a tip I picked up from some people on the Club Tortimer Island. If you cut down the trees in the center of the island, more beetles will appear on the palm trees. I don't know if it actually works, but it's worth trying.

One more thing I noticed: walking in and out of the building on the island resets the bugs. After I catch the beetles that I see on the palm trees, I walk back in and out, and there are instantly more.

I have a method of catching beetles without fail. Just cut down all trees on your island and leave two on the left and right sides when theres a bug on the tree stop at the stump of the tree before it then start sneaking the rarer the bug the more stops you'll have to make( be sure not to get too close though get your waistline to the start of the shadow of the tree then catch)
Like catching a Golden stag stop a few times before you get there
something like the red and white goliath you can actually get close to and catch.

Yeah I know the feeling. When i'm at the island to make a few bells, I find so many whale sharks, saw sharks, hammerhead sharks, regular sharks.. along with quite a few golden stags. I kinda feel like "rare" catches aren't quite as rare this game.

When I was still catching beetles, I went home with nearly half my fishing box full of those. Rare, but they pop up enough especially if you don't like the other beetles.

Setting up the island perfectly tends to get the best results in minmal time as well.

I get a lot of sharks too, Jamie! And I WAS getting a lot of beetles, but here recently, the good ones have been rarely spawning. I may have to ruin my island just to increase my chances of rare bug spawns now, too.

Well, yesterday I got to the island to catch some beetles and I got my first golden stag. It wasn't too hard, as I'm good catching palm beetles. Just slow down and spam your net :V

I got about 5 horned elephants and 8 Goliaths. I almost got a Giant Stag but it fled right when I unleashed my net *Facepalm*

I had that happen, sort of - well 3 sharks in one day fairly close to each other. I thought it was normal. Then I was like what? Rare? 15k bells? Lemme get dem sharks!

... haven't caught any since.

I got 6 sharks once, out of no where it seems. Before and after that though... Hardly any ever spawn. I spent a good 25 minutes a pop on my island and I usually get none. If I get one, I can't catch it. :/ I don't press too early either, I'm good at fishing. As for golden stags, usually ill have 2 or 3 for every 10 beetles I catch. Not so rare it seems, hahah. They appear often.

At the island yesterday I caught all of the types of sharks except for the regular one. Then I missed one. So for me, they're not that rare...

I found many of them(like about more than 10 per a trip) but I could catch just a few.

Yeah with all the public work projects and stuff it gets really hard trying to pay for it all

Yep Whenever I go to the island I usually only get a good 3 sharks they spawn REALLY slow most of the time for me.
