Is it worth going to the mystery islands anymore?

i used to go whenever for materials on pervious saves, but tbh even then its only rly useful if ur lacking weeds or want to hunt for recipes. since im try to get every villagers' picture i'll only rly use nookmts to get a new villager since the campsite villagers may mess things up (unless they appear on a day i have an open plot). im trying to hoard my nook miles atm because when i eventually get everyone's picture or give up on trying to get everyone's picture i'll want to hunt for my dreamies.

I haven't gone to an island since the game first released, don't really see a point to honestly.
I can catch the same bugs and fish on my island, it's pretty unlikely you'll land on an island with a high spawn rate for rare ones anyways.
I assume you've already gotten access to all flowers and fruits by now too.
Unless you're super desperate for the materials, or have a ton of NMT with nothing to do I don't see the point in visiting them.

I like to go when I'm struggling to catch certain fish or bugs because it's easier there. Will definitely be going later to catch the new beetles and bugs that spawn on the palm trees at night since I always accidentally scare them off on my island when they actually decide to show up 😅

If none of my villagers are planning to move out, then I won't run into characters on the islands right? have 2 villagers I just can't get to leave and would luv to invite a mystery character to kick them out like you can do with campers

I'm not actively villager hunting or looking for extra materials, but I go when I want to catch rarer fish and bugs easier since it's easier to force spawn palm tree bugs or river/pond fish.

according to this spread sheet, only the big fish island that also had hybrid flowers was removed. the other one appears to be fine.

I’ve definitely been to the shark island within the past few days, then one with the shark fin hill type structure in the middle.
I got the game after hybrid island was removed I think 😞 that or I’m incredibly unlucky

I never really go to nook mile islands to do anything other than villager searched tbh (which I rarely do, either lmao). I just never find anything good.

I hit a big fish tour today. Returned to my island with pockets full of dorados and arapaimas.

The hybrid island is gone?!
I didn't even know this was a thing.. :(
I only go when I'm villager hunting to be honest..besides that no. :/

It's worth visiting them if you are aiming for the big three villagers namely Raymond, Judy, and Sherb.

I like going for the rocks. I seem to get more gold from the mystery island rocks. Also, evening bugs. I usually find better ones on the islands

I go for fishing and bug hunting in the beginning of the month when new fish and bugs arrive. It’s nice to chop down trees etc to try to manipulate the spawn rate.

Yes because I have a better chance of getting rare fish (at least I think so). I got three dorados in a row earlier today

Scorpion and the one with sharks.. Fins island? I mean they were my source for hell's when I was upgrading my characters houses so yeah, the island are still useful. Plus, I'm comfortable catching/farming bugs there during the season.

I only go if I have empty plot, and even then I rarely go to more than 20. The materials I collect usually last me until the next time a villager moves out. I don't really fish or catch bugs for bells so I just get all the new creatures on my own island.

I still go to collect materials since it's easier to do it there than on my island. I'll probably also try getting the new seasonal beetles there because my palm trees are kind of annoying for bug hunting.

People over used the islands to try and find dreamies that they've forgotten the point of the islands, which is a good way to find resources.

On the islands, you have an increased chance to find iron and gold, you get 2 extra furnitures from trees, and another wasp. Plus, you always have a chance to find a special island with bamboo, money rocks, or scorpians/tarantulas.

So what was Nintendo's point in getting rid of all the rare islands? Who is the suit making all these stupid decisions?
