It is to me I just love it! Everything about it the snow, lightning (although only on tv or internet because I kind of don't like thunderstorms), the clouds everything. Just to see if there are any weather people out there do you know what these are?

Supercell

Mammutus Clouds

Watch

Warning

Rotation (in weather terms)

Thunderhead

CAPE

Convection

etc

Well I know some of that, what I know is from either science classes or aviation.....or the news

:p .

Supercell and thunderhead are two stages of clouds that form tornadoes. Tornado watch means a tornado is possible, tornado warning means a tornado has been sighted. Is that right? Me loves thunderstorms!

It's been a while since 8th grade, but ok....

Supercell
Extremely large cumulonimbus.

Mammutus Clouds
I had to look this one up, pouch-like protrusions under a thunderstorm.

Watch
Well, this generally means that meteorologists are watching for roatation (in the case of a tornado watch) or other signs of severe weather, such as severe thunderstorms, high winds and floods.

Warning
This means that the things mentioned above have actually been detected.

Rotation (in weather terms)
Well, its basically the same as rotation in any other terms, rotating fluid, such as air or water....

Thunderhead
Isn't that just another word for a cumulonimbus or anvil cloud?

CAPE
Convective available potential energy, I don't really remember what this was about, just what it stood for.

Convection
Like your oven, its how heat moves through fluids (i. e. AIR)

Anyway, I AM interested in weather, but mostly in thunderstorms, being that there are a lot of them where I live (not that many, but still quite a few). Twister is one of my favorite movies, even if it is a bit unrealistic.
