Isabelle useful

This morning, she announced I'll have shooting stars, but not who was visiting (yesterday, she did announce Daisy Mae). I have Gullivar today, so it might be that she announces those who have co-ops, so you know they won't be on Harv's island that day?

To be honest, I don’t love this feature. I didn’t really have a problem with Isabelle being ‘useless’ (I feel like she is more there as a character than to be a utility), and more than that, it kind of removes activity from the game. It isn’t a big deal either way, but it looking for the days visitor gave you a reason to explore your island and removing that is an odd choice to me.

Anyway, I wouldn’t go as far as to say it bothers me, but it is not a feature I think really added anything to the game.

@Imbri she announced CJ on my island today, so I am guessing maybe only the intentional visitors (as opposed to gulliver/arr who washes ashore on accident)?

I guess to be honest I'm a little indifferent about it. Most of the time I'm not paying full attention to what she is saying anyways, and I'd kinda like to explore/find these visitors for myself. n_n

She announces Gulliver too! I think shooting stars and campsite villagers are more important so she'll announce those instead. She does the same thing with events.

I actually still haven't heard her announce a visitor after playing every day since the update. I'm not sure if it's only certain visitors or if she only does it when there are no other announcements?

I just noticed this yesterday and I’m so happy about it! Before we’d have to search the island in every spot to see who was there today if it wasn’t totally obvious… I guess I like her a little better now, although I still wish someone else helped run resident services instead of her.

At least she gives you a heads up of what is going on in the day. I didn't like the idea of not knowing where the NPCs where so It was hard to figure out. To each their own, but I disagree. This was a much welcome change.

I wasn't too bothered looking for my visitor so the update did almost nothing for me in terms of how useless Isabelle is. She still is useless as she saves barely any time as a wandering visitor is still a wandering visitor. I don't mind her being useless, just wish she shared her spotlight with Digby.

Also when I'm hungry for a camper, it's hard to not blame her every day I'm left with my camp site still being barren and void of life.

Agreed. People always say they love the charm of the old games, well I think not knowing which visitor you have for the day and finding that NPC is part of the charm of the older games. I bet if this was a feature from the start people would just say they wished Isabelle didn’t announce who was visiting the island as it takes away the anticipation of finding out who it is. Besides, whether Isabelle announces the NPC or not, unless it was one of the stationary NPC, you still have to go look for them while they walk around.

It took until she was finally out of update and seasonal things to say, but today she announced that Leif was visiting.

If I’m stuck listening to daily announcements they might as well give me more useful information. I’m really pleased with this change even if I have an ingrained tendency to spam past her now.

Ah, that's probably why she didn't mention Kicks this morning - Kitt is staying at the campsite.

I like that she lets you know who is there. Sometimes I don’t have time to try to find them.
