As you know, we aren’t going to receive an update for ACNH, but let’s assume that some improvements happen for the current game. Following each of these eight questions, what would you rather do based on your customized gameplay?
  1. Suppose that Nook’s Cranny can remodel. Would you rather have longer hours (Nook ‘N’ Go/T&T Mart) or more space (Nookington’s/T&T Emporium)?
  2. Suppose that you can only have the lighthouse or the windmill (not the wind turbine) on your island. Let’s also assume that the windmill increases the spawn rate of rare insects and the lighthouse increases the spawn rare of rare fish. Would you rather have the windmill or the lighthouse?
  3. Suppose that you can build one more facility on the main island, where you can decorate it and hire some of your own villagers. Would you make it a shop or a restaurant?
  4. Blathers now has a new one-room exhibit across the Roost, but it’s something you can’t donate to. Would you rather have a space exhibition (where you can have stuff like the solar system and the star life cycle), or a Nintendo exhibition (where you can see the history of its handhelds and consoles, as well as a few exhibits of Mario and Zelda)?
  5. Isabelle now allows you to change the hourly soundtrack of your island for as long as every song came from the same game. What game would all 24 hourly songs of your choice come from?
  6. Labelle now offers GracieGrace furniture if you pass her fashion checks, but you can only choose one furniture series as provided in both City Folk and New Leaf. What series would you choose to get from Labelle?
  7. Suppose that placing balloons as scenery now boost luck given that you have at least five of the same color and no others. Let’s also assume that you can get more Bells for placing yellow balloons, more items for red balloons, higher chance of hybrid flowers for green balloons, increased spawn rate of rare fish for blue balloons, and higher chance of bugs for pink balloons. What color balloons would you choose?
  8. Suppose that you can only build one more house that you can decorate on the main island, for Timmy and Tommy, Mabel and Sable, Tom Nook, Isabelle, or Blathers. Who would you build the house for?

These are really well considered questions! Let me think.
  1. I would rather have more space! More variety in the shop interior would go a long way, I think. I tend to play at very different times depending on the day/week so I don't really need longer hours. And I don't TT ahead to gain things more easily, but I have no problem time traveling to 7 p.m. for a fireworks show when I'm actually playing at midnight (or noon) if that's my only chance to play that day, so if I really want to visit the shops I'll just wind the clock back a bit.
  2. This was a hard one! I'm going to say the lighthouse. I would love more rare bugs AND more rare fish, but at least with bugs you can visually tell whether they're rare without taking the time to catch them, so I think I'd prefer the fish help.
  3. I would make it a shop IF we could have a new type of item to buy/sell and it would actually interact with the gameplay. Cooking is cute but feels like a "side concept" for AC so I typically forget it even exists. I'm not sure how much I could actually use a restaurant. But if they're both going to be more decorative, I'd say a restaurant, because we already have a lot of shops, so at least it'd add variety in concept.
  4. I WOULD DIE FOR A SPACE EXHIBITION. I actually built one in the outdoor area around my museum because it seems like a natural extension of the museum. Bring back Celeste and let me unlock astronomy exhibits for her!
  5. Wild World had the absolute best AC soundtrack, no contest. I'd pick that one.
  6. I would choose the Gracie series.
  7. I'd boost my fish luck with the blue balloons! Blue and yellow are my favorite colors, but I'd have to let blue win so I can finish the museum.
  8. Probably Mabel and Sable just because it seems so sad that they're always stressed out and working! They deserve a break. (Same for Isabelle and Timmy/Tommy, honestly.) If we're going just by favorites, though, I have a soft spot for Blathers. I am also long-winded about my special interests. I feel like we could be friends.

  1. Suppose that Nook’s Cranny can remodel. Would you rather have longer hours (Nook ‘N’ Go/T&T Mart) or more space (Nookington’s/T&T Emporium)?
Definitely more space for more items. Time travel so the hours wouldn't affect me.
  1. Suppose that you can only have the lighthouse or the windmill (not the wind turbine) on your island. Let’s also assume that the windmill increases the spawn rate of rare insects and the lighthouse increases the spawn rare of rare fish. Would you rather have the windmill or the lighthouse?
I would prefer the lighthouse. While see more rare insects. I think the fish are generally better for selling. Also, I prefer the look of a lighthouse over the look of a windmill.
  1. Suppose that you can build one more facility on the main island, where you can decorate it and hire some of your own villagers. Would you make it a shop or a restaurant?
A restaurant the game already comes with a number of shops so a restaurant would help with variety. Kind of like the roost used to be.
I think I would rather have the space exhibition. I love space themed stuff and in my new leaf game I made a space-themed room in the museum. Also It's a shame that Celeste lost her observatory. I'd be happy if they brought that back.
  1. Isabelle now allows you to change the hourly soundtrack of your island for as long as every song came from the same game. What game would all 24 hourly songs of your choice come from?
Oh definitely the new leaf soundtrack I miss that music so much.
  1. Labelle now offers GracieGrace furniture if you pass her fashion checks, but you can only choose one furniture series as provided in both City Folk and New Leaf. What series would you choose to get from Labelle?
Oh I miss Gracie. Easily my favorite set was the sweets set. But the gorgeous set is a close second (both from New leaf)
I wouldn't appreciate the implementation of this mechanic because it would limit how you design your Island. I never really liked the feng shui mechanic either. That being said, if I had to choose, I would go with the green balloons. Sometimes hybrid flowers take so long to propagate, so it would be nice to have a way to encourage that to happen (though I'm pretty sure planting Lily of the valley next to hybrids encourages them to propagate)
  1. Suppose that you can only build one more house that you can decorate on the main island, for Timmy and Tommy, Mabel and Sable, Tom Nook, Isabelle, or Blathers. Who would you build the house for?
It seems like Timmy and Tommy could use it the most seeing as they are children. Though they do have jobs so they could probably afford it themselves, and Tom nook really should be taking care of them, especially since he gives out houses to practically everyone.

Answering my own questions:
  1. Longer hours is better than more space. I should be able to buy or sell at any time of the day. Plus, Nook ‘N’ Go had the best exterior design of any shop.
  2. The lighthouse wins. Aside to looking better, I would approve of increasing the spawn rate of rare fish at the expense of common fish like sea basses and horse mackerels. The most expensive insects are worth 12,000 Bells, but the most expensive fish are worth 15,000 Bells.
  3. I would build a restaurant since I like restaurants more. They are more fun to decorate, and I do like to eat.
  4. I’n going with a space exhibit. I gotta learn more about the solar system, the changing seasons, the moon phases, and the Earth’s relationship with the sun and moon.
  5. The GameCube Version has the best hourly songs. I would prefer to listen to its hourly songs in my island, especially in the evening.
  6. If I can only choose one GracieGrace theme, I will go with the Gorgeous Series since it’s my favorite furniture series. My favorite furniture series list is open to change, but the Gorgeous Series will never fall from the top.
  7. I’ll probably place blue balloons in this case. Pink balloons are a close second.
  8. I would design Tom Nook’s house and make it a luxurious mansion to reflect his high debt prices and CEO position.

1. I would probably have longer hours, I still kinda take my time starting the game so I don't always play in the day, so by the time I get on, I can't really sell or buy anything.

2. As much as I need special rare insects that would be easy to sell, I would go with the lighthouse for more fishing. I don't fish as often as I do, and I really need to get back into it. Having more fish would be more interesting.

3. I guess it depends on what sort of shop it could be, since we already have one for clothing, and furniture items. If there was a different need, I would definitely take the shop. Maybe a food shop that only has specific ingrediants you can only get there. And with restaurant, does sound appealing, but if it could be a cafe instead, I would definitely pick that option!

4. Space exhibition most definitely!! It works more better for a musem to have that as well! Celeste could finally get her star gazing back!

5. I haven't heard much of Wild World music, so I would say New Leaf music as I have been listening to that, and it is so good. When I worked at that other job, I used to put on the animal crossing soundtrack and it worked so well.

6. Honestly, out of Gracie's sets, I love her Gracie furniture. Very retro, and the tone of te furniture is what I really love, so I would stick with hers. Iconic for sure.

7. Out of those balloons, I would probably go for red or green balloons. Pretty much a hoarder already, and I love getting new items that I could either use, sell or give to villagers I like. It's a win-win. And green because there are times I just can't get the right hybrids, I don't have them all now, and were trying to get green mums.

8. Ohhhh, it's between either Isabelle or Mabel & Sabel. Isabelle still really needs a place to call home, and to relax away from EVEYRHTING. In new leaf she wanted to go to the beach/island. This time she did, but she's still working hard, she needs a break and her very own home is something she needs. And honestly, I feel like they should have given her a home. And if you saw her lights on, it means that day she is off, and you cant do certain things til next day. Let her walk around the place and enjoy her time off!!
And then there's Sabel & Mabel (Add Labelle in there, she needs a main place to call home), not only do they work hard, but it feels like they haven't had a proper family home since what happened to their parents. That should change~

1. More space. The hours are fine for me with the night owl ordinance and there’s the box to sell things at night. I’d rather it be easier to find specific items.
2. Lighthouse. I’m missing more fish than bugs.
3. Probably a restaurant, since we’ve already got shops.
4. A space exhibition and I want Celeste to work there!
5. City Folk / Wild World - the music in those games is so nostalgic to me.
6. The Sweets series! I want to make a gingerbread house!
7. Red balloons and more items.
8. I like to think that Timmy and Tommy have a little room upstairs in Nook’s Cranny. Maybe Tom Nook lives with them. Isabelle has a door near her in resident services so maybe she’s got a room there. Blathers sleeps in the museum anyway 😂 And the Able Sisters has a door so maybe they sleep in there. I dont know. I think Tom Nook deserves a fancy house after all these years.

  1. I would rather have more space for items. Mostly because I keep seeing the same items all the time.
  2. This one was hard because I like them both. I would probably pick the lighthouse because I fish more than I catch bugs.
  3. Depends on if the shop could bring in new items . If so it would be a gardening shop that sells all the plant items we are missing. If not it would be a restaurant . It would be nice to have a meal with the villagers.
  4. It would definitely be a space exhibition. I love space related things. I wonder if Celeste would stop by.
  5. If just from ac games it would be wild world. If from any game it would be Zelda Twilight princess
  6. My favorite Gracie furniture set the sweets set . I would love for that to come back . Hopefully she could bring the candy house with her.
  7. I would choose green because I love trying to grow hybrids. Maybe have it be able to grow new colors?
  8. This one was hard because I would love to make them all a house. They all deserve a place to relax. I think it would be Blathers since I think everyone else may have a room in their shops or in R.S.

What a fun questionnaire!
1. Longer hours for me, I’m playing a no time travel island at the moment and I prefer to play in the evening. I don’t often have much time during the day.

2. Lighthouse, my island is Nautical themed so it’s a clear choice for me, fishing is also one of my favourite things to do in game.

3. a restaurant would be super cute! It would be even better if it came with a minigame like the cafe in new leaf :D

4. A space exhibit! I’d really like to give Celeste her observatory back!

5. My first instinct says Wild World/City Folk because it’s so nostalgic, but realistically I’d probably change it up periodically. Gamecube is so quirky and unique, New Leaf is beautiful and Nostalgic, tbh New Horizons soundtrack really fits the vibe of the game and after all this time it also makes me nostalgic… Animal Crossing music is great. I’d love to have it randomised every hour honestly!

6. Card series! I love gambling aesthetics

7. Green, I think they look nicest as scenery, plus I’m trying to breed hybrid roses from scratch!

8. I’d say Isabelle because she seems like the only NPC who was hired to work there and didn’t actually build her own place. Also she worked so hard in New Leaf and she’s run my town by herself for years now shsjsjs

These are some very interesting questions! Really makes me think about what I’ve enjoyed from previous games too that’s a little sad to not see in NH.
  1. I mean personally I’d love the progression of the previous games, where you do get all the variations and eventually end on the huge department store. To me that’s one of those core features I’m baffled didn’t make a return.
  2. Lighthouse, hands down. I don’t know if the spawning of rare creatures was a thing or not since I was young and didn’t pay attention to that sort of thing when I played it, but jn CF you had this precise decision to make, and that’s what I did then, and still feel the same about. I think it’s because the lighthouse in the first game felt like it just belonged.
  3. Restaurant for sure! Gives another fun thing to do, and there are already shops.
  4. This is tough. Would be interesting if the space idea brought back Celeste as a permanent figure in the museum. I do miss that. But the Nintendo museum idea is very neat and also kind of meta, which could be a lot of fun!
  5. PG. There’s actually a website that will let you listen to the soundtracks based on the current time and I will just go to this website sometimes when I want instrumental music in the background of something I’m doing.
  6. The Gracie Series has always been my favorite! I like that it looks like something you could realistically see in real life.
  7. Hmmm this is an interesting one I haven’t really thought about much before, but I think I like the idea of red because filling the catalog is something I don’t know that I’ve ever finished lol.
  8. Mabel and Sabel! I’ve loved them so much since the very beginning, and especially in WW when their story was really introduced. Definitely some of my fav NPCs, though that is a difficult choice to make since there are so many that I also love. But for the house it would definitely easily be them.

1. Suppose that Nook’s Cranny can remodel. Would you rather have longer hours (Nook ‘N’ Go/T&T Mart) or more space (Nookington’s/T&T Emporium)?
Both would be nice, but I'll say more space. It was fun watching the shop grow and expand in previous games.

2. Suppose that you can only have the lighthouse or the windmill (not the wind turbine) on your island. Let’s also assume that the windmill increases the spawn rate of rare insects and the lighthouse increases the spawn rare of rare fish. Would you rather have the windmill or the lighthouse?
Lighthouse. I prefer how it looks, and I think I have more difficulty with collecting fish than I do with bugs.

3. Suppose that you can build one more facility on the main island, where you can decorate it and hire some of your own villagers. Would you make it a shop or a restaurant?
If the shop would have new items, then I'd pick the shop. I'll never say no to new stuff. If it's just a for fun sort of thing, then I'd probably go with the restaurant.

As much as I'd love a space exhibit, I have to pick the Nintendo exhibit. I love Nintendo games, and having exhibits on Nintendo series I love like Mario, Pikmin, and Splatoon in Animal Crossing would be fun!

5. Isabelle now allows you to change the hourly soundtrack of your island for as long as every song came from the same game. What game would all 24 hourly songs of your choice come from?
I'd pick the GameCube soundtrack purely for nostalgia purposes.

6. Labelle now offers GracieGrace furniture if you pass her fashion checks, but you can only choose one furniture series as provided in both City Folk and New Leaf. What series would you choose to get from Labelle?
I'd choose to get the Princess Series. It's my favorite, and it has a lot of pretty pieces of furniture that I'd have fun using

Green, getting more hybrid flowers couldn't hurt.

8. Suppose that you can only build one more house that you can decorate on the main island, for Timmy and Tommy, Mabel and Sable, Tom Nook, Isabelle, or Blathers. Who would you build the house for?
Mabel and Sable! I've always loved those two, so building and decorating a cozy house for them would be a fun experience
