I am not sure if everybody saw the articel on IGN. They interviewd the devs and it is really interesting.

At first worry not Isabelle is in the game. That's confirmed. Also you can stay forever on an tropical island without shops and such or you decide to pay of your loans and expand your town with shops. It's really like everything is your own decision.

Please read the interview for more informarions :)

So this is what I thought, I want a developed town yaaasss

Like what would the point be of a deserted Island if they didn't give you the freedom to make it a bustling place.

Yeah I think they let you free to do what you want and that's awesome.

It’s great you’ll have the ability to do what you want. Developed town for me. :p

I like how they're hinting towards a slow from the ground up development and the choice of leaving it more undeveloped if we want, rather than forcing us to have a re-tail or whatever on the map itself from the get go. Although I wonder if there will be a middle ground... eg. are the developed buildings like permanent PWPs going to be placeable on the island itself or will we unlock another location such as mainstreet? I kinda like having a mainstreet like in new leaf, but map definitely looks big enough to have space for different kind of buildings all over town. I'd probably go for a more developed town in my game play though!

Idk how I feel about that.

That island isn't big enough to hold shops. I was hoping shops would be somewhere else that you take the plane to get to.

I'm sure that they got a solution for all of that, they want to make the game ''perfect'' after all.

I like this a lot, but I always want everything available anyway because of my completionist nature. Anyway, though I feel like it'll be nice to visit other players who decided to go the minimalist route. X

I'm the same way, I have a collective personality and while I am so happy they confirmed you build your way up, I worry that if I take the developed route I may miss out on some items I would have gotten if I took the rustic route and vice versa. Hopefully we'll still be able to do online trading for those items.

Speaking of, while I am SO GLAD they confirmed that you build the town up, can the next thing they talk about PLEASE be Pocket Camp integration? I'm in love with all the angelic stuff from events in PC right now and I'm really hoping I can send it over to New Horizons. It would also be nice to know if we can't, too, that way I can stop wasting time and effort on PC.

I think it?s obvious on what the answer is.
It starts with the letter D.

.......

[SUP]and ends with the letter.... D[/SUP]

It?s developed. Not deserted.

So, to my understanding, the game progresses from a deserted island to a developed town? Am I reading that correctly?

It's kinda obvious that we have the option to do so. If you think about it, you're like the mayor in this game but like, more freedom and less restrictions. We can make a front yard now thanks to being able to place furniture outside.

For me, I plan to have a mix. Living in my city gave me a rough idea what it's like being in downtown and being in the outskirts of the area.

this might be the first time ever I actually make and invest in multiple towns

have one be a more developed town, and the other a more natural nature island

I'm conflicted about that. I like the idea of staying in a tent, having a small camping area around my tent with a cloth line (like in the sped up segment of the E3 trailer), but I also want more than 2 animal villagers staying on the island and I guess if I don't develop it, then villagers will not want to move to my island. I'd also like to help my villagers build their house and not live in tents forever - like me.

I mean, this sounds cool and all, but...is this going to mean that we can't use amiibo to bring in new villagers? Because THAT would truly suck and kind of be a step backward.

I'm really trying to imagine all the shops we had on main
street and in the town in new leaf and 10 or so villagers fitting into that island.

I really dont see how this is going to work...

I was hoping for something like Main Street. Perhaps there's somewhere we can fly to on the mainland to shop, not counting having the Nook store on our own island.

I want all the shops, just not on the island, as I like a more rural setting.

Oh yes!! I was worried you wouldn't be able to develop it a lot but I'm glad this will be an option. I always prefer a more developed town (or island in this case).
