Journaling on pen and paper for mental health reasons...?

I really enjoy the bullet journal model. It acts a both a notebook and a journal. It helps me keep track of important things and also helps me record my emotions or events for the day. What nice about the format is it can be used for so many things than just a normal planner or journal! I recommend you check it out. Just google “bullet journal”.

Excellent idea! I hadn't thought of using it that way, despite the fact I love making lists. I suppose I was thinking about it too much like a diary. Thanks. :D

I don't physically journal very often, but I sometimes write journal entries on the computer, and it's extremely helpful. I find that:
1. Even if you think about a topic a lot, the more tangible way of expressing thoughts and feelings that writing provides over thinking makes it easier to make actual breakthroughs about whatever you are thinking about rather than just pointlessly ruminating.

2. Having a space where you can talk freely about things you could never see yourself feeling comfortable discussing with others is extremely cathartic. Bottling things up can be extremely damaging and journalling is a great way to unbottle the things you feel embarrassed or ashamed or fearing judgment about.

I don't do it often, but when I do, it helps to get it out of my head and on paper, where I can shred it or burn it or something.

Yes I do! I actually have completely filled out three diaries starting on and off since 2007 and am working on my fourth one! It really helps to get my mind off things tbh.

Here's a picture of all of them (the blue one being my current one): 81885546_1225664640965937_5525562541125664768_n.jpg

I haven't done it before (aside from your kid diaries lol) but I'm thinking of getting one and starting to do that, having Aspeger really makes you overthink and analyze **** A LOT so maybe writing them down could help. Although sure I talk to some other people (online) and while they understand it's definitely harder to talk to people IRL since a lot don't even get ASD issues.
