Knifes and Forks - where do you hold them O-O

Once again I have no idea if this has existed as another post but... how do you hold your knife and fork? (Specifically which hand holds the thingy)

For example I'm right handed and hold my fork in my right hand, but the rest of my family holds their forks in their left hand. Knifes are the other hand ofc (I don't use my forknife often ^-^

So how about you?

I am right handed and I hold the fork using my left then knife using my right hand as I could probably use some force when holding it in my most comfortable hand? lol that's also where I hold the spoon.

I'm right handed and hold my fork goes in my right hand, knife in left. The only weird thing about me is that I use two different grips between my left and right hands; I hold the fork in my right hand how I would hold my pen, but I hold my knife with two fingers on top. It just feels more comfortable that way lol.

Oh, yeah they are really similar looking now that I read them through again ^-^

I maybe could of made them look more unique.

it just feels right to me


about the fork knife though, i use one pretty much every day. if i don't then i end up scraping food onto the fork with my fingers and i don't like to get my hands dirty unless im eating doritos or sth

im right-handed and i hold my knife with my right and my fork with my left. your dominant hand will have more control over the knife which is important whereas you just need to stab with your non-dominant.

I hold my fork with my left hand and my knife with my right hand... but I’m also left-handed.

I find it so interesting that according to the poll, most right-handed people hold their knife in their dominant hand, while most left-handed people hold their knife in their non-dominant hand. Byproduct of growing up in a right-handed world, perhaps?
