12-16 would be a good amount of villagers for me.
Personally I'm hoping for something like 15 or 16 villagers. I think it's a good number that gives variety without being overwhelming.
I like the idea of having that many villagers because then I can separate them into three different neighborhoods, it doesn't work as well if it's just 10. I never feel like my community is "bustling" when it's just 9 or 10 villagers.
Something to keep in mind, is that since we have the ability to place villager homes...we're likely going to be in control of how many villagers are on our island. So even if we had the ability to have 25 villagers....people could still make the choice to only have 10-15 of them. (heck they could choose to go back to Wild World and have just 8 if they wanted)
I feel like the most important thing is having that choice to decide for yourself how many is enough (within reason). Nobody should be forced to have more villagers than they want (or can deal with), but I also think it would be great if we had more of a range of options for those who want a bigger community.
I keep hoping for a customizable villager cap through Nook Miles. Like you start off with only able to have 5 villagers. Then you have to purchase "upgrades" that would let you have 10, 15, or 20 villagers through Nook Miles. It would be a great way to customize your island even further. Those who would like less villagers would love it. Those who would want more would love it.
In reality, I think we might get somewhere between 10-12 villagers with the last one being a campground move in.
i like how you added a villager house on an island with no bridge. if villagers can't use vaulting poles that poor animal is stuck there all alone...
i personally think we will have a limit of 10 villagers or at most 15. 25 is a crazy amount
Obviously, when terraforming, it'll be much easier to move villagers around to fit in places that I want for the island so it won't be messy like this map. The purpose of this map was only to fit 25 villagers on but there's plenty of space!
I’m sure people are reading it (well, most lol).. I just don’t see it happening. All signs point to 10. While having 12-15 would be ideal for me, I still think it’ll end up 10 max. It would be nice though to have a soft max number based on available acreage instead of a rigid one.
I don't understand why people keep telling me it's too much?
Does how I choose to play my game change the way you play yours?
You can set your own limit, so I just feel confused right now...
I just feel like a lot of people haven't read my post completely...
People are just sharing their opinions on that amount of villagers on one island. When you make a post on a forum most people will assume you're asking for opinions. We have no evidence there will be additional islands yet so its safe to assume you meant "Here's what 25 villagers on one island looks like" and people shared their thoughts. It looks overwhelming with homes everywhere and the thought of tending to that many villagers is headache inducing. I think personally I would like 12-15 villagers at most.
It's true, I expected a response but I wasn't saying here's what it'll look like. I was trying to fit them on a map that is supposed to become bigger over time when expanding your island.
I also said the map was messy and would look better wnen I am able to terraform.
Yes the map looks messy because I've placed them randomly. When I'm in control of villagers houses, I'll place them where I want (๑?o?๑)
With the new rumours though, 10 seems to be the cap (๑?⌓︎?๑)
25 villagers roaming around like how they would in NL would be overwhelming, I agree, however, this is NH and villagers are completely different.
They do other things like craft, run around, walk and eat, sit, sweep, catch bugs, catch fish, are aware of their surroundings and act accordingly and read books, nap outside, not mentioning the ones who will be inside! They'll be in the museum, we don't even know if villagers themselves can pay using their own NM to visit other islands!
So whilst I can see your POV from past games, I can't for this game since it's so alive! o(。・‧̫・。)o♡︎
We also don’t know how the island can be expanded. I’d imagine a small island addition in the future but we just don’t know how that will be implemented.
As far as you saying the POV from last game, they mostly just stood there or were in a small area. Now that they can run around it seems it would be more hectic than 25 villagers in new leaf lol. For pretty much every single acre to have a villager just makes it seem more busy and less charming and quaint. But that’s just my opinion. 25 villagers would be great if I was trying to make a bustling city or village but I guess I just prefer a more balanced island between busy and relaxing. The option to have either would always be nice. Options are great for everyone.
Personally, I didn't see the edit until you pointed it out and I didn't read through the whole thread lol. Most people are saying that their ideal number would be between 10 and 15 and that they'd never have 25 villagers on a single island, which is pretty much what you said in the first post. Just people giving their opinion, even if they're not directly commenting on the cap thing. You have to expect some kind of off-topic comments here and there, we're all excited about the game and tend to talk about different stuff.
