Least favorite Nintendo Controller?

Joycons because they cost $70 for a pair yet I've only owned mine for a year and a half and I have to fight with my drift every 5 seconds

The N64, definitely. Why is there a third handle? Ah, yes, my stomach hand, I'll just use that.
I will also agree with all of y'all on the matter that the joycons are ludicrously expensive.

I would say the GameCube controller due to how uncomfortable it looks to use, but I've never used one so I can't say.

I'm not a fan of the Switch joycons. They're too light and small, I grew up with the Wii+nunchuk which felt heavy and comfortable in my hands.

Ofcourse the drift issues and how PRICEY they are. For 80$ I'll just go buy a Pro Controller, which I know still has drift but I feel like it has less of that problem, that or I'm just really lucky.

Nintendo has experimented a lot with their control schemes, some obviously to better results than others. Which of their controllers have you disliked the most?

I feel like this is a weird pick but I have to say I really dislike the Wii's classic controller. It seems like it should be a step up from the Super Nintendo Controller but it just never feels quite right and the joysticks feel off to me. I tried playing Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask with it recently and even the basic movement feels off.

Sadly, I would take even the Wiimote over the terrible joycons any day lol I can't stand the joycons. That drift is just too awful 😣

i love the size and concept of the joy-cons, but the drift makes my original controllers basically unusable... love the design tho i guess

don't like the N64 controller, like what the heck is going on with that thing

I'd say Wii Controller but I'll say it's a larger issue than the controller.

That being said, yes, N64 controller is painful if played a ton, gives you sore thumb because of how hard the plastic is on the joystick.

I don't like the NES controller, it's just so small and weird.

I quite enjoy the two-thirds of the N64 controller that I am able to use at any given moment

N64. I played Mario Kart with my aunt on it one time and it sucked to hold.

N64. The button quality was poor and the overall design stupid. Actually we could say the same about the joycons, but the freedom of not having your hands bound by a single controller is worth it to me (and I seem to be in the minority that can hold the joycons comfortably).

Also I'm very glad I'm comfortable with servicing them myself, because they do not last that long... I mean, I have an adapter for my PC and use a Wii U pro controller for a lot of games. Wonderful thing, very comfortable to me, the battery lasts around 80 hours (!) and the controller itself has seen a few thousand hours of gaming by now.

If only the joycons could have been built to the same standard. Where did we go wrong?

I love reading threads like this! As a kid, I honestly didn’t think much of the N64 controller, but going back and trying to use one is almost the worst thing ever.
Wiimotes were cool for a hot second, but I mostly used the GameCube controller.
Joycons have been the absolute worst. The drifting, cost, size. Nice colors though. I have a pro I use mostly for my switch so I never have to bother with the Joycons.
Tl;dr Switch Pro, GameCube, Wiimote, N64, and lastly Joycons
(I don’t even remember playing NES)

NES controllers: just basic and ok
SNES controllers: Very nice and it really worked back in the days. It's only downside is that it's very... flat
N64: This was so strange in the beginning... no one has 3 hands for as far as I know :') But in just a few hours of using it you really get used to it and it works fine.
Gamecube: When I saw this one for the first time it scared me of all the buttons but it really was one of the nicest controllers after all.
Wii: Ok let's be honest... the Wiimote is really bad. I don't want to move and swing around like a crazy person while playing a game. The pro- or gamecube controller was really a must, but some games like The Legend of Zelda had to be played with you swinging your arms and because I didn't want that it was the first Zelda game I skipped. Reason enough to make this the worst
WiiU: Ok it's big, but I really liked it. They could've used the screen a lot better sometimes but it worked fine by me. Especcialy with games like Mario Maker the screen was really good and easy to use.
Joycons: For most part I like these, but the drifting makes me hate them. Still thinking about a pro controller just like with the Wii but without drifting they are ok.

Long story even longer: so my number 1 least favorite is the Wii-mote
