Zelda Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom

I've read reviews that say this game has performance issues, can anyone tell me when they happen and how bad they actually are?
I've had some issues with fps when a lot of things are on fire especially with lots of grass too and some issues when sticking a ton of things together but usually also in places with lots of grass or objects. Nothing that I can't get over and it sorts itself out pretty quickly when the fire's out or when my creations inevitably fall apart.
Edit: To note I also had the fire issue in botw so it's not a new problem anyway.

Okay...I'm turning around on the building aspect. - Once you get more of the capsules, things get more interesting.

I'm kinda obsessed with the rockets. Lol
Trust me that the building only keeps getting better and better. Initially I was also like: "I'll only use this feature and the devices when I absolutely need to", but now I'm building things sooooo frequently and having so much fun exploring the sky

I just keep being more impressed with this game the more I play it, The more I get use to the controls and gameplay the more fun I'm having. I've only done 23 shrines and 1 temple so far too so have a ton more to go, gonna probably explore the east side of the map tonight hope to see some familiar places and old friends from BotW.

I lowkey feel like building in this game is somewhat similar to what I'd want Public Work Projects to be in Animal Crossing 😭 Imagine they just give you the materials and you can build whatever you want with them for your town

Wouldn't really make sense in AC but yes, it would be amazing anyways :-D

I'm loving the game a lot more than BOTW, even if it brings with it much of the same things I hated about BOTW.

I've done over 50 shrines in this game thus far, and they have all been really fun to solve compared to BOTW. It's been over a year since I last did a full play through of BOTW, but IIRC, a lot of the shrines in that game were really complicated to figure out, and some relied on motion controls, which are a pain to work with. Unless I'm remembering wrong, the Shrine detector in BOTW never told you if the shrine was below or above you, so shrine hunting could be really hard at times. In this game, the detector will notify you if it is under or above you. This is extremely helpful.

I really miss the remote bomb from BOTW, but all the abilities in this game are miles better than they were in BOTW. Ultrahand being able to pick up nearly anything is a lot better than Magnesis, Recall is a million times more useful and fun than Stasis. And Ascend can be very useful in certain situations. Fuse is a really interesting mechanic, and it's neat that items can all have their own attributes they can add to a weapon when fusing. There are so many times you can cheese your way through puzzles and challenges using a combination Ultrahand, recall, and ascend.

The building mechanic is really interesting in this game, and adds a whole new layer of fun. Although it has its limits, I find it extremely useful in some instances, and the
Autobuild
you unlock later on is even more useful. Sometimes the game will require you to carry something somewhere else, and being able to ferry it with a makeshift plane or car is extremely useful. If Nintendo continues to make these open world LOZ games, I hope they continue with this mechanic.

Although the story feels too much like a copy of BOTW, it actually seems to be longer. I'm at a point where I believe the game would be over by now if I was playing BOTW.

Maybe saying this part is a spoiler to some, so I'll hide it
I cannot express how much I love having companions in the game follow you around and do combat. While they aren't all exactly A-Class fighters in combat, the amount of support they provide is extremely useful. And Riju's lightning blast is the best thing since sliced bread. I almost never win a fight using my swords. I stock up on arrows and win nearly every battle with regular arrows. Her lightning explosion is just too powerful, and knocks down almost any foe, and they lose their weapons too

It's weird. I stayed away from all trailers and information on this game, excluding the first E3 2019 and E3 2021 reveal trailers (The game didn't have a name yet). So I went into the game not knowing building was even a thing, and I wasn't sure how to feel about it when first introduced to it in the tutorial. I soon came across a Korok in the tutorial area needing to get to its friend, and it was then I felt my first once of satisfaction with building, and I had to make something with hooks on a rail.

Pretty sure this video here though was my very first build, and it did not go well :')
You can tell I hadn't gotten the hang of the rotation of objects yet.

I love the mechanic though. It's not perfect, but it is extremely well done.

I'd spoiler the AB word!

i'm 90 hours in and i've just managed to complete the rito quest and that's about it , there's just too much to get distracted by (i love the caves and wells ) ! im absolutely in love with totk , i think theyve perfected everything from botw and im glad to see the map has changed enough for it still to feel new and exciting but still nostalgic

my only little complaint rn is i wish the sky was a bit more interesting, in my head we were gonna have towns in the sky and major exploration but all ive had rn is a couple of tiny islands (with the exception of the starting island)

So...there are item dupe glitches already. And I'd be lying if I claimed to be above them. Lol.

Well, I am.
Not telling you what to do - go nuts, enjoy the game and duplicate your Master Sword :) - but I think the game provides enough of everything and I enjoy every challenge in this game (including how to find all ressources). I have never been pressed for any so far.

I love the sky but I also wish there was more of it. It's not as if there wasn't ENOUGH (everything in this game is "enough" content-wise in my opinion). Hope that upcoming DLCs/expansions (and financially those will be happening 110%) provide more sky to explore.

Relax. Lol. You can't even dupe the Master Sword.

It's only for materials. You can't dupe weapons or key items. You can't dupe things like Poes or other rare resources.

Also, I didn't use it much, but I duped some rubies for extra rupees (not even than much...just a few thousand)...and I duped about 20 bomb flowers, because I hate running out of them at the exact moment I need one (which feels like always) lol. - I've seen people duping diamonds and just making absurd amounts of rupees to break the game's economy. - I don't plan on doing that...but, it does come in handy here and there. For example...I needed three acorns to obtain milk from the farmer. I needed the milk for another quest. Now...I could have wasted my time running down to the forest and finding acorns. It isn't the hardest thing to do. But, it was nice to just dupe a couple and have the milk that I needed. In that instance, it wasn't like I was breaking the game or cheating to obtain a difficult item. It was just a convenience that I otherwise wouldn't have. The alternative was the mild inconvenience of wasting a few moments to obtain some nuts. A wholly unnecessary objective, IMO.

Anyway, I think most of the rare or difficult to obtain items are either weapons, clothing, or key items...so, it's not as though anyone is really assuring themselves an "easy" gameplay experience by duping materials. But, it does let you stock up on some things that you might otherwise waste your time looking for, or constantly find yourself running low on.

I duped a few peppers at the beginning because I accidentally farmed and ate them all earlier before I realized I needed them. So I agree in that it's not actually ruining the entire experience but instead just saving my dumb ass lmao

Why relax? Why would anyone not be relaxed?
I think that no one should judge anyone else for how they'd like to enjoy their singleplayer games. I simply stated that I wouldn't do it.
I also never time traveled in AC - it's just not how I PERSONALLY like to play my games. I truely meant it: More power to you if you like spicying it up in your game.

Not sure how many hours I am in the game but I’ve activated at least seven of the Towers and a lot of the Lightroots near the center of the Underground. I just gained the teleportation marker for the Lightning Temple. I accidentally Ascended inside the Temple to a point where I could get out because the room needed Riju to solve the puzzle and she couldn’t follow me. I had to reload the last save which wasn’t too bad as it was close to where I made the mistake.

Wouldn't really make sense in AC but yes, it would be amazing anyways :-D
It wouldn’t quite literally be the ultra hand 🥸 but I don’t see why Nook or Isabelle giving you materials to construct something wouldn’t make sense. Especially when there’s stuff as whacky as Mario tubes in new horizons.

If memory serves me right, I think this is kind of how the crafting worked in Hokko Life. You had base objects and could put them together to make literally anything you wanted. But, I digress.

Honestly, it could be an exact duplicate and I'd still be a bit unfamiliar with it. Even after hunting down and completing 100% of the shrines in BOTW without a location guide, I still haven't gotten entirely familiar with the map, and adding on time away from the game, I just can't remember how it's supposed to be.

Oh yes, Hokko Life has one of the best crafting mechanics I've seen in a game. The possibilities for furniture customization are nearly endless.

Finished my second dungeon today (wind) with 50 hours on my clock.

I'm starting to slowly see the end (the bigger part of the world is now revealed) but it's still staggering how much I have to do. And more importantly: It's still REALLY fun. With botw - at this point - I had already fallen into a routine and there were no more real surprises 50 hours in. This game is is refreshingly different in that regard. I daily find a lot of new things/content.

to someone whoses never played a zelda game, would it be recommended for a new comer?
