Are there some forms of media or entertainment you know pretty well that not too many people know about? Stuff like Anime, TV shows, video games, or movies that are not too well-known by many. They may have been acknowledged by a million people or more, but compared to the other forms of media, that's not very much. Sure stuff like Animal Crossing aren't too popular, but this thread is for the more unpopular, lesser-known stuff. Something not too many people know about, or a lot of people know but tend to forget about.

One of the stuff at the top of my head I can say is Atomic Betty, which is an old show (2004 to 2008) about a 12-year-old girl who has a double life as a student and a galactic guardian. Her two sidekicks are an enthusiastic alien and an intelligent, yet pessimistic robot. A lot of the stuff from that show are freaky weird stuff like the universe being under the threat of a cat-like man and a swivel-head assistant, strange planets like the planet of space celebrities, and a goldfish as a commander. The show is just as sci-fi as Buzz Lightyear is, and as weird as Looney Tunes is. It aired on Cartoon Network at some time, but it got pulled from the air because it wasn't popular enough. But CN had a lot worse shows after (not the live-action shows or the reboots). Nobody actually talks about it (not even under "forgotten shows"), and it's been off of CN for over ten years.

Another thing I can think of is inFAMOUS, which is a video game series only recognized by the Sony fanbase, and not talked about as much as stuff like Uncharted and Assassin's Creed. The infamous games are about a guy with superpowers that you can use for good (like sharing the food with ordinary civilians) or for evil (like overcharging the tar kegs into the water system, which disconnects them but poison the water supply). There are three ranks on each side of the spectrum, and the more you are to one side, the more powerful you get, and the more you live up to the reputation. The games also have alternative endings, plot twists, and a lot of lessons taught. Sony made some Smash Bros knock-off, and two of the characters you can play as are two different forms of the main character in inFAMOUS.

Please share what you do know about that not too many people know about, but are at least known by people around the world. You may also discuss what others have brought attention to here.

Warrior Cats.

A book series about wild cats that live in Clans and fight to defend they territory, food and there's always a prophecy that needs to be deciphed & fuffiled. It was first published in 2003 and new books are still being written now!

There was a dedicated forum but it got shut down a couple of years ago due to declining member numbers (rip) but I spent so many hours there talking and debating about characters, role-playing and reading fan fics.

Literally no one I know in rl has heard of warriors (especially now I'm 21 and it's mainly aimed at 10 year olds lmao) and i really miss the old community that we had.

I thought these books were really poular a while back. I saw them everywhere and one of my best friends was REALLY into the series, but that was about 10 years ago. I had no idea they're still being written!

Reminds me of the Mortal Instruments. I don't know anyone who loves the book series. I'm not even sure how popular it is, even with it having a TV show and a movie. I started reading it in high school and it became a guilty pleasure of mine. Kind of like AC which is a game directed more towards children, this book series is directed towards teenagers, but I just can't let it go. I'll be sad when the authors stops the series :(

I've never read any of the books but my friend showed me a comic about Scourge (who I guess is supposed to be the main villain or something) and I kind of enjoyed it.

Obscure games really interest me. There's a game with Top Banana, which is the weirdest and ugliest game that I used to play a lot, though I've never been able to beat it. It's not even mediocre but there's something I really like about it. Or the time someone on /v/ linked a game called Lostboy, which was supposed to be a creepy game but the scariest thing about it is that someone re-uploaded the game, this time it was a backdoor RAT file, and it was confirmed that credit cards and bank accounts had been breached after people had downloaded it without scanning or anything.
No one talks about Clock Tower for the Playstation, and I can see why. It's not as good as the first game by any means, but I find it to be scarier and the only reasons for it are the music and the overall atmosphere. I've tried emulating it but I can't bring myself to finish it.

Anyone know about the game Voodoo Vince on original Xbox and PC? Boy, do I miss that game, alright. Everyone I talk to about it hasn't even heard of it. :c

Clock Tower is fantastic! I'm all about low-key and weird video games and horror games. Like Rule of Rose, Chulip, Kuon, Fatal, Haunting Ground... It's too bad that these games faded out without selling many copies because they're very expensive now.

You wouldn't believe me, but between 14 to 16 years ago, Animal Crossing used to be one of these lesser-known media. But this is no longer true as of 2013.

Another video game series people don't talk too much about - Gex. When I was younger, I didn't get what his quotes meant, but as I got older, I realized what he's making references to: old tv shows and movies from the 1930's to 1990's. Some of these quotes are even directly from Star Wars.

Sunset, which is an amazing game that too few people seem to like genuinely. It's pretty artsy and politics/history heavy and it require you to have an interest in that as well as the 1960s/1970s but from what I've seen it just got bashed randomly. Yeah, it's a bit clunky, graphics and how it's built because it can give lag but apart from that it's one of the best games ever.

Can we talk about how great Daria is? I've recently gotten into it, even though it's from the 90s. Unique humour that shows these days need more of in my eyes.

Pororo the Little Penguin, something I honestly used to love, is pretty obscure here in the United States. I wouldn't expect cartoons from South Korea to be popular here though.:p

It seemed like as recently as 2009, it wasn't terribly popular, although City Folk never matched the same popularity Wild World had. After New Leaf had its release in 2012 and 2013, it did sell in large numbers, although not as much as Wild World did after it came out during 2005 and 2006.

None of my friends, nor anybody I mention it to, ever know the game, the Adventures of Cookie & Cream, when I bring it up. It's such a darling little puzzle game. From my childhood memory, it was also frustrating at times because timing/precision had to be perfect for certain actions. I bought the game again but for DS, and I plan to play it when I finish with one of my current games going on.

Dang, I feel old hearing that. AC is old. And I don't think I completely realized how unknown it was to the masses because my brothers and our friends all played it when the GameCube was the big Nintendo thing.

And lul. My brother named his pet gecko after Gex. You're right; nobody really talks about that game.

I'm old too. I did remember talking to my friends at school about Animal Crossing back when it was just the GameCube version. Yeah, it was one of the lesser known games at the time, but they sure have promoted it so much it's no longer one of the forms of media that is worth discussing here.

Since your brother named his gecko after Gex, have you ever played Gex? I actually enjoyed that series. Gex 2 (also known as Gex: Enter the Gecko) was the best of the trilogy. Before Geico, Gex was the gecko of the generation.

Yeah. But at the same time, I didn't realise it gained so much popularity until New Leaf.

Sadly, no. I know I used to watch my brother play, and I really sucked at games at the time, so I know I was handed the controller at one point but gave up quickly enough. But the memory was vague enough, kind of like that Banjo-Kazooie GBA game I once had, that I wasn't sure if it only existed in a dream or in real life. Whenever I remember it, which isn't often because it's never brought up, I want to play it. But alas! I do not own it.

Old, good shows people here might like? A few people seem to like the gothic stuff. Not many talk about the good Canadian shows.

Here is Ruby Gloom.
