i'm shocked at how many bells people have and after they took away the ability to catch a lot of tarantulas/scorpions, i was wondering how people have been able to make bells in game?

well I made ~30 million bells in the first few months I played NH by playing the stalk market :)

there's actually a dedicated board for that here, people who have high turnip prices will invite others over to sell theirs. I think that's the biggest money maker in the game tbh.

The stalk market definitely makes a big impact.

CJ and Flick pay more than what Nook's pay for bugs and fish, so I recommend stockpiling on any high sellers (ideally anything that normally sells for 8000 igb or more) you catch and selling each time they come by. Enough of them can easily get you a few million in one go

I used the stalk market whenever I got a high price. I would then use my niece’s switch to time travel ( with her permission) because she doesn’t play anymore.

Now that I have the gold rose wreath, I sell them and can make almost 100,000 bells in one harvest.

i currently have about 15 million bells. ironically enough, only a small percentage of it was made from catching high-value critters. i made that money by selling and trading with other players. i don't recommend nookazon to purchase things, but if you want to sell, people on nookazon offer a ton of bells for things you'd think wouldn't have much value. i've seen villagers sell for more bells than i have on there! my best piece of advice would be, as others in this thread have said, take part in the stalk market for sure, and sell/trade items you don't want anymore. hope this helps! ^^

I have around 70 million Bells, but I never dabbled with the stalk market - I actually got most of it from trading on Nookazon. (The prices are crazy high on that site, so it's not much of a surprise.) I make at least 100k Bells (minimum) from doing my dailies though, so I could've managed just fine without Nookazon anyways.

I don't recommend buying from Nookazon because of the high prices, but if you really need Bells (or just want to get rid of your items) then maybe it's fine. I also make Bells from harvesting fruits and crops, along with selling high-value critters (in-game obviously).

Like others above have said the stalk market and harvesting from farms are great money makers
I have about 35 Million bells I get from rare critters but I would not say harvesting rare critters is a very effective method because you cannot guarantee lots will spawn
the stalk market will probably make the most money out of all strategies for earning bells but if you aren't careful you can lose large amounts of money from it as well
I would say creating a farm of non-native fruit and vegetables is the best money maker because it's the most easy-going way to make money
that's my take

I don't play the stock market but I simply enjoy fishing and catching bugs
even though Nintendo changed spawn rates and sell prices multiple times 😒

I used to spend hours and hours on the stalk market every week when I used to play all the time. Took a lot of work but I eventually I had more bells that I would ever need.

I started with a handful of blue roses I bought from someone here, planted them and just let them multiply. Now I have a lot of blue roses I farm and harvest every couple days for big money. That's how I do it these days more or less. (ETA: Blue Roses are 1,000 bells each. You can use 5 to create a Blue Rose Wreath, these sell for 20,000 bells each. That's a 15,000 profit)

Turnips are risky, but can more than double your investments if you play your cards right

Prior to the update that came after Bunny Day in 2020 , rare bugs had a better chance of spawning, so I would catch nearly 100 or more peacock butterflies every day and save then until Flick came to town. Flick pays about 50% more than Nooklings. The rare bugs are harder to get nowadays, but if you do catch any kind of bug with intent to sell, save it for Flick. If you can't wait for Flick, there may be people who have Flick in their town that will invite you over.

If you want to time travel (or even if not), you can farm money rocks and money trees. The trees net 20,000 per day, the rocks net 16,000 per day. That's 36,000 bells per day. Every player you add to the island (regardless of house/tent or not) gets one of each of their own. So potentially, you get 8 money trees, and 8 money rocks per day. You can make 288,000 per day. You can do it again tomorrow, or time travel, and do it all over again.... I haven't tried it, but I suppose you could do more than 8 per day if you delete the alt character and recreate one and repeat. (ETA: You don't even have to start the game as this character. If you own a pro controller, you can invite them in co-op play and the game should spawn in their rock and glowing spot.)

In the earlier stages of my game I was just always fishing and trying to get sharks too to sell.
But then I started really getting into the Stalk Market so that's how I end up with a lot of bells :)

If you have another switch + copy of NH, it's toooo easy to get millions of IGB. Stalk market is the way to go!! There are sites that help you figure out what kind of trend you have which is nice.

Turnips. You will have a great week eventually and I didn't mind the loss til then.

Lots of people have either duped bells or used the stalk market by time-traveling to find the best buying or selling price.

I'm going to assume it's with turnips, that's how rich people in any Animal Crossing game usually get their cash!

I look for glowing spots and dig up the Bells there and either bury 10000 Bells if I have at least that many or bury the 1000 I just dug up if I don’t. It is time consuming since you must wait for the tree to fully grow but it is worth the effort. I paid off my first two loans this way and also used this to get produce starters from Leif whenever he has anything I need and genuine art from Redd.
