I've been using EOS for awhile but it hasn't been doing it for me. I feel like it makes my lips peel more? I constantly have to exfoliate.
So I switched to Lanolips. They're so much better but they're pricey which such a bummer. There's another one I liked: Co Bigelow lip cream. They smell and feel great. Then I bought some Essence lip butter today, so hopefully that works well too.
My time to shine!!! A year or two ago for some reason my lips got really dried out, and I tried a few different balms but none of them helped at all. SO I went to the pharmacy and the awesome lady working there recommended Dermal Therapy Lip Balm, and I kid you not, my lips were healed within two days. It has a slight mint feeling to it, and it actually moisturizes your lips. I even sent some to my mom because I'm not sure if it's available in the US (I'm in Australia).
Highly highly recommend.
I've been using Kiehl's Lip Balm, but am running out so I've just been using straight up Aquaphor that I dole out into empty sample-size cream containers. I think I prefer the Aquaphor!
Most of the stuff I tried didn't work and joined my collection of useless lip balms. My favs were: one made with grapeseed oil from Dans Un Jardin, but they don't make it anymore, and Hemp Heavy Duty Lip Care from Body Shop but it's a bit more expensive and there is no more store in my area. Among the cheap ones I can find in the nearby drugstore, vaseline and Blistex mint are okay if nothing else. Recently I tried Softlips Peppermint (holiday pack), not the best but it's okay too. I will try Burt's Bees next time, not sure they have different flavors here though.
i usually use the nivea essential lip balm and have been thinking of switching to something else for a change. i sometimes use a medicated lip balm by blistex when my lips are really struggling i also really struggle with picking at/peeling the skin on my lips when i'm anxious or afraid i've bought and been gifted lip balms from both burts bees and eos and found that both dry my lips out :/ i don't know if it's the certain flavours i've tried but i never felt like my lips did well with either brands. i usually have really dry lips and it gets worse in the wintertime
I just use whatever chapstick is around. Even though my lips get chapped constantly in the autumn and winter, the brand isn’t something I actively think about. As long as the quality is decent I’m good with whatever.
Usually I just buy what every is cheap.
My friend told me to use Burt's Bee's though and it seems to be working very well and very fast. So I think I will be a Burt Bee girl. For $6.99-$10.99 for a lip chap though, I need to be more careful with them to not lose them!
I usually go for more natural brands, but OG Blistex in the green tube is the only thing that keeps my lips moisturized during the winter months. I put it on once after brushing my teeth in the morning, and again before bed. If I need to reapply during the day, I use EOS (egg shape) in the coconut milk flavor.
Recently I've had some of the worst lip dryness I've ever experienced (my upper lip dried out and it felt so WEIRD gahhh) and I was wondering why my chapstick was seemingly doing nothing when it's worked for me before, no matter how often I kept applying it, but ohh my god I started using a moisturizing lip repair ointment (Aquaphor) and then layering the balm over that, and I swear to god it fixed it overnight?? It's still winter and the air is really dry, but my lips are perfectly fine now. Apparently lip balm is mainly for keeping existing moisture in, so if you don't have that to begin with you're out of luck.
I am never going back to using a lip balm alone omg. I love this stuff.
