Lip Balm! What's your go-to?

I don't really use lip balm unless I need to, but I like the regular carmex. I get chapped lips pretty easily when it's cold/dry out and carmex works really well 😁
gonna update this, Carmex does not give me the hydration I need anymore. lately I've been using Blistex five-star lip protection, but I also use Burt's Bees Deep Conditioning lip balm. both work quite well though I think I prefer Blistex.

I'm also at a point in my life where I can't stand the sensation of chapped lips, and since it's cold and dry asf outside this time of year I use lip balm almost compulsively. 😅 at least my lips are nice and hydrated hehe.

Recently I've had some of the worst lip dryness I've ever experienced (my upper lip dried out and it felt so WEIRD gahhh) and I was wondering why my chapstick was seemingly doing nothing when it's worked for me before, no matter how often I kept applying it, but ohh my god I started using a moisturizing lip repair ointment (Aquaphor) and then layering the balm over that, and I swear to god it fixed it overnight?? 😭 It's still winter and the air is really dry, but my lips are perfectly fine now. Apparently lip balm is mainly for keeping existing moisture in, so if you don't have that to begin with you're out of luck.

I am never going back to using a lip balm alone omg. I love this stuff.
omg I may need to try that? that sounds so nice ☺️ I find that lip balm alone does work well but not great, so that sounds like a good idea! and yes, lip balm doesn't necessarily repair dry lips, just protects them, so it's good to have something like Aquaphor as a supplement.

I like the Sugar Lip Balm by fresh, but it's pretty expensive. My friend usually buys me it for Christmas, so I just wait for that. Otherwise, I just use whatever.

Usually I prefer Burt's Bees or Chapstick, but recently been trying Aquaphor as it's more bang for the buck

I use the egg-shaped EOS brand of lip balm when my lips get chapped, I've used it for a few years now.

For Burt's Bees, I have the Beeswax and the other is maybe the Ultra-Conditioning one? I also keep the Nivea Original, Moisturising, Pearly Shine (tinted), and Strawberry (tinted). The Nivea Strawberry is my current favourite, and is what I usually use!

I have lip balm in every coat pocket and every purse. (And also a microfiber cloth for my glasses!) I can never have enough:) I now mostly use Burt's Bees, though I do like the Nivea Care and Color sometimes for a hint of tint without the scents sometimes. But I have a sweet tooth so I tend to like fruity flavors with Burt's Bees, like Mango or Pink Lemonade. I like the spice flavors too like Pumpkin Spice, or Chai Tea.

I am really baffled by the bulky eos egg lip balms; when they were first coming out and really popular, I couldn't understand why you'd want something so bulky! I really like the slim tried and true lipstick tube size... But I was given an egg version during covid to try - I never knock anything until I've tried it! But I definitely still haven't finished using it up whereas I've definitely gone through a few other Burt's Bees sticks. I just find it's an awkward shape in my purse/pocket. I have tried a few stick versions of eos too, but I just don't find them as moisturizing as Burt's Bees unfortunately, and I'm always so dehydrated that I need the extra moisture!

i'm trying to find different lip balms with SPF to try now, so far i like jack black (not that jack black lol) and am gonna try the nivea one after

In Colorado, just about everyone has some sort of lip balm in their pockets at all times. The dry air in high altitudes, mixed with half the year being cold, you need some balm! I have mostly stuck with good old fashioned Chapstick, but recently started trying strawberry flavored Carmex.

I think it works just as well, but the flavor and smell is nice.
