It would be extremely stupid to not add in any villagers in future updates, whether they would be GC ones or brand new. City Folk and New Leaf managed to add more villagers from their previous titles, so why can’t New Horizons?

this list includes the sanrio villagers, but i thought the sanrio cards and special amiibo villagers weren't supported in this game?

Think you misread it lol, it said minus amiibo figure and Sanrio villagers c:

The new designs aren’t bad at all, but I also didn’t fall in love with any one of them. For my preferences most are either too vibrant in color, a bit too plain (Sherb and Megan come to mind) or a combination of those two.

Yeah, I’ve actually been thinking that due to the small number of new characters in general, we’ll be seeing A LOT of them on people’s Islands!

It's a little disappointing that there are only 8 new villagers. (and no returning ones) Of course I didn't expect a number similar to what we got in New Leaf, but even with my lowered expectations it's still disappointing.

Although they probably intend to add new (and perhaps old) villagers through updates so I have hopes that the number will increase over time.

Nintendo might be planning to support this game longer term. If they do, we may very well get older villagers like Woolio. You never know.

Here’s hoping!

Rocco and Woolio were my pals in PG. Camofrog, Rod, and Savannah were my WW faves. In CF I grew to love Ankha and eventually got Savannah, Rod, and Camofrog to move to my town. In NL, I got them ALL (even before I got all the cards) except poor Woolio, who hasn’t been seen since the GameCube. It’s time...

Renders are often official media. Only thing the game will have are in-game models, and the villager faces used on the map.

I've been hoping they'd add more to them but nothing yet.
