List of Villagers Based on Popularity

I feel like the animal species should be included in the villager's tier. Certain species are just more popular than others, for example, cats and dogs and octopi. Although the only reason the octopi are even popular is because there are so few of them in the game. If more were introduced, I doubt they'd be popular as villagers. In it's current form, it needs a lot of work. I really don't think most of those tier 5's are rightly so.

Maybe if the other tiers were bigger, we wouldn't have certain fan circles banning users for having so-called "trash towns" (even if only ONE villager is Tier 5). I'd shorten Tier 5 to about 80 or 90 villagers, instead of the over 200 villagers currently in that tier.

Interesting. If any towns are trash towns it's the ones that repeat all tier 1 villagers. Even then it isn't trash, it is what you like. Some AC fans are so strange.

According to the tier system, Erik is a Tier 2 villager and Colton is a Tier 4 villager.

It's so crazy how much this changes! I feel like no matter what tier an animal is people catch wind of a "popular" one or they see other people desiring it and then it explodes. Ive seen posts for marshall with like 1 reply. I don't get whats going on. Lol. Stock market crash?

Hey! This popularity chart IS really cool and lets you see who most people like on this forum! But just a tip for you, don't let this chart decide for you what villagers to have! There are some tier 4 and 5 villagers such as Blanche, Static, Savannah and Portia who I think are great! On the other hand I've had Marshal and Merengue and even though they're cute I wasn't a fan! In the end, it all comes down to personal preference and you should be the one to decide what villagers you want, not this list

I've looked at certain villagers and thought "omg, you're so hideous I wouldn't touch you with a 10-foot pole..." and then seen other people desperately searching for them! You just never know!

Well me and my friend failed to sell two marshals so i can relate xd. But i also feel like most players have their dreamies now or stopped playing AC so the demand for villagers is quite low.. until there is a reset on towns i don't think the prices are increasing anytime soon.

It really annoys me that some people think towns with a bunch of Teir 1's are trash or something.

I know many towns have the same Teir 1 villagers, but I'm pretty sure no one chooses which villagers they like/want solely based on tier. That's stupid. If your town has Teir 5's that's fine. If your town has Teir 1's that's fine. No one should judge a person/town/villager by their villagers/the villagers/their tier.

Honestly so many people are hating on how popular Teir 1's are, it makes me feel like this list should be flipped and the Teir 1's are actually supposed to be in Teir 5.

For the most part, I agree with you--people should like what villagers they like--but... well, someone just said on the last page that this chart "gives me a sense of who I should really want". So I feel like there are at least some people, maybe mostly newbies, who pick what villagers they want based on tier when they really shouldn't.
Honestly though, it's just a list, why people care about it so much I'll never know

*shrug* Maybe, maybe not! There are quite a few of them that I've had and loved--Phoebe, Sprinkle, PUNCHY, Zucker and Julian come to mind--and others I didn't! Stitches for example, his X eyes look like he is dead. Or Marshal or Whitney, adorable but just not interesting to me for some reason. So yeah, I do wonder sometimes. I do know that this was the first thread I looked at when I joined the forums, wanting to know if I could trade away any of the villagers I didn't care for.

The only tier 1 or 2 I love are 2 tier 2s...Molly and Maple. Those are the two villagers I just never let go of. It just depends on your tastes. I also love my tier 4s, Jacques and Blanche, so much. It was hard to find Blanche when I found her.
