I keep resetting to get Carmen to move somewhere near the other peppy villagers, Truffles and Peanut, and she just won't go there.
She moved near Maple once... and I was fine but I tried to reset again and ugh.. I really wanted her to move there now!! Especially since I realized that she might not be able to plop where I wanted her to.

Anyone else have problems with this? Did you eventually get the desired place or did you give up?

I get my desired places but only Flurry is the odd one out e_e She's not lined up with the others so that kind of bothers me.

Tbh, I don't really care where my villagers move atm. I haven't set up paths yet, and my perfect pears are in an area that doesn't have enough room for a villager to move in, so I'm just letting them plop down wherever until I get a good town and begin to work out all the dreamies I'll rotate.

I wanted Cobb to move out because I didn't like him that much, the only thing I liked about him was his house placement. He had a really good spot for a house. A few days after he was gone Bree moved in, her house basically had the same spot as Cobbs, just two spaces backward. So that turned out pretty well for me.

I don't ever reset for these kinds of things though, I adapt easily.

It takes me a while sometimes. But other times I just put the game down and try again a few hours later and they'll move in the exact spot I wanted.

Idk if this is just me, but when I type random letters for the name, the plot appears on opposite sides of the map.
I can type "x" and they'll plop down in the bottom right of town about 8/10 times , or I can name the character "937?v" and suddenly the plot is in the top right.

I know it doesn't really affect where the plot appears, but its fun pretending and gets rid of the stress :D

I went on for 4 hours trying to get Deirdre's house in the perfect place...I spread out the time doing it, and I finally got a pretty good placement at 2 AM. :/ She was only once near the place I wanted her, but too close to my house. :( At least I got her in a decent place! It was originally going to be where I was going to have Marshal's house, but I suppose having his house near the cliff is fine, too. :)

I'm currently trying to reset Zucker into the area I hoped would be for villagers. No luck so far but I won't give up so easily. Fingers crossed.

i do not really like reseting, for me if a neighbor moves in a really bad place it just makes fun for me to make my town different and to make the new neighbor fit in :)

Yes it happened to me with both Coco and Kid Cat. They just wouldn't go in the right spot! But with persistence they finally knew their place haha. :p In a manner of speaking.

This morning, before school at 7AM, I was trying to get Benjamin to fill in the blank spaces in my "neighbourhood"! At one point I almost used my character by mistake and I almost exploded.

He finally moved into a good spot.
