Lyrical Limericks

As the special day draws near
On the streets, the children will cheer
"It's almost Christmas!" some exclaim
"It's only seven nights away!"
While parents say "No peeking yet, my dear!"

The yearly bauble catastrophe 🎄

Every year, it’s the same madness
Isabelle, causes me sadness
Chopping wood fills me with dread
Baubles hit me on the head
When the lights are gone, there’s gladness

*I've done 8,8,7,7,8 however depending on which syllable counter you use, Isabelle can come up as both three or four syllables. 😊

To the Nook's store I shall go,
To buy perfect gifts I know,
I'll grab ten toys then I'll pay,
Soon it's here, the great Toy Day!
I wave to Nook and, oh NO.

(I know I'm not the only one to forget a gift for someone once before)

awoken by howling and blows
i saw a horizon of snow
but i turned round in my bed
for it was hurting my head
the cruel world’s bright 4 a.m. glow.

(also not sure if world’s is one or two syllables but a website said it’s two)

I always say I'll be prepared or more prepared for the holidays, but it always just sneaks up on me. So this is dedicated to that.

Christmas day quickly approaches,
My house is full of gross roaches,
Cookies out for Jingle,
Look there, it's Kris Kringle,
On the roof his sleigh encroaches!
