Asian parents are the worse. I feel people in Europe have it easy, but I dunno. x.x
And then comes stupid wishes: Like good grades, or that I should be a doctor or something.
Bah! They're the reason why I try to derail from such nonsense.
ikr ;v; im interested in being a nail technician or anything else in the beauty field, but every time i bring that up, my parents put together some excuse to get me into being a doctor like "noo if you work with nails, nobody will pay you, then you'll grow old homeless & alone then die. doctors are better, you'll make us more money" which is based off what they actually said to me at one point. i wonder how it feels living in a family that lets you choose whatever career you want haha

I'm Asian and half my aunts and my mom works in nails/hair/wax o-o and she's a god at painting them but my parents don't really care what I work as, they just prefer me to become a doctor or at least a job that can support me and i can see y lol
Asian parents are strict, but I see their good intentions because they just want you to live a better life than they did instead of scraping enough food everyday to feed like 8 children //my mom and her family, I can understand where they're coming from although they can go over the top for many families u just have to explain it to them like a million times before they realize //my dad

Also have asian parents and they're very supportive of me working in the television industry (not journalism, more fictional shows etc.)
Oh god it's like the exact same with me, though I'm just half Asian. I wanted to be White ;-;
I'm White/Asian, that's one of the things I can be happy about myself.
Oh you should! I'm half Brit-Half Indian, but the Indian part is more prominent into me ;-;
