I feel like in general I hear more Asian parents horror stories from the States, yeah :/
well I'm Asian and I've never really experienced any physical punishments, usually it's just them yelling at me.
It might be because I'm also Canadian, and apparently Canadians are nice and polite.
I've been yelled at, beaten, and locked in the basement.
Nothing too damaging, at least.

Because my friend joined in and got in trouble xD then she convinced everyone to stop being friends with me lol
Pretty much the same, really. Though my dad likes to get much more aggressive at times. But oh well.

Benefits? D: I was probably only yelled at before high school, and since then I have a really good relationship with my parents ;w;
Higher pain tolerance, a stronger mentality, such and such.
I guess that's one way of looking at it
It's ironic how I'm optimistic I am about negative situations,
And how pessimistic I am towards positive situations.

i just don't know what the words mean. I am 13 and stupid
If you mean the whole thing, it's just about how I'm able to be happy in sad times,
And sad in happy times.
I think that sums it up a bit.
