I kind of miss the nostalgia of just being a carefree resident, so I wouldn't need to be a mayor again. I loved Tortimer as mayor, but I think Isabelle should take over as mayor in the next game. She practically does everything already and maybe we'd actually see her more. I felt like when I finished planning my town and building PWPs, I pretty much stopped having any interaction with her except for holidays.

I don't think that we would lose all customization just because we weren't mayor. I'm pretty sure they'll bring in some features of HHD so players have even more options for customizing their towns. I just don't think we need to be mayors to do that.

I think it would be cool if we go into town as a regular villager, get a job with Tom Nook and all that lark, and then build our way up to mayor? Like maybe the animals all unanimously vote you mayor after a certain period.

Tom Nook or whatver shop owner could ask you whether you want to keep your job AND be mayor. This gives a reason to be able to customize shops and buildings like in HHD whilst giving access to the mayoral role I think....

Also, alternatively you could say no to being mayor, and then Someone like Isabelle can hire you as a town developer or designer

Ohh that’s a great idea actually! I’d be happy if it was something like that.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind being just a normal villager again. Isabelle seems to be someone
who would be a better mayor because she's already doing more then we do, let's face it.
If we could do more as a mayor then I would say ok, I gonna pick up the job of the mayor
again, but if we only can do the same things just like in New Leaf... Meh. Being a normal
villager who can help out building up the town and decide certain things is enough for me
at this point.

Now that's an idea I would love to see in the game. With that, you would actually have a
nice challenge. You have to work now to earn you the mayor title. Much better then just
getting out of a train and automatically becoming the mayor of a town out of nowhere
because your villagers have so much trust in a random kid that appear in their town so
they make him/her their mayor now, lol.

I voted yes as I would like all the features that come with being mayor in New Leaf, however if we get those features without having the position itself then I wouldn't mind at all. I wouldn't mind if Isabelle or someone else were mayor in our place, but at the same time I like the idea others have of running for mayor. Would be a good feature for towns with multiple player characters to rotate duties!

I do not want to be mayor again for the reasons you have explained. I would like to have similar features available to us in different ways.

I voted for no, because it's not so necessary for me if I'm becoming the mayor again or not.
Becoming the mayor in New Leaf wasn't something special to me if I'm honest here, because
it felt like that those things, like letting a PWP build or change the ordinance in your town, is
something you could also do if you aren't called "mayor". If the Switch game would give me
more the feeling of being the mayor, giving me more control to certain things, to show that
you are more "powerful" as the mayor then as a normal villager, then I would be also more
interested in being the mayor again. If it's just like in New Leaf again, then I wouldn't care
if a long lost family member of Tortimer becomes the mayor or if they give this job to Isabelle.

I think that they will come up with something different and unique. At least that is what I hope hehe

i love being mayor. i feel like i have a lot of freedom and i can basically do whatever i want, so i'd like to see the new game continuing that and developing it even further

I was thinking about the available roles that you could do as a mayor in New Leaf. I would say no as Isabelle would just do 80% of the work for you which seems like mayors don't typically do. Hopefully, Nintendo has another way around with this.

tbh, i would rather isabelle be the mayor and the main player being the assistant Since Isabelle does everything in your town when you are gone

I love the idea of what someone said being the interior exterior designer. That would be cool. I don’t want tortimer back though. Have a new mayor and let Isabelle still be the assistant.

But I’d still be happy if we are still the mayor.

The final version of ACGC, the japan-exclusive Doubutsu no Mori e+, had pwp like objects you could place in your town even though you weren't mayor (I think it was done through Nook). So even if you're not the mayor in the next game, I'm quite sure you'll still be able to customize your town just as in New Leaf.

Personally, I like being the mayor. I just think it's fitting seeing how much you do for the town.

I would love it if the Switch version kept the mayoral concept, from ?New Leaf,? but made the second human character one who is a designer. Let the animal villagers have more than just their main-floor room. Give them a second-floor room and basement. Have a player?s second human be a designer, like ?Happy Home Designer,? and give that second human options: example, keeping an animal villager?s main-floor room design with a setting of original (while designing the second-floor room and the basement). Now, I would not encourage making any more humans have to perform tasks. So, again?1) Mayor (just like from ?New Leaf?); 2) Second Human (designer).

mayor rights!

Personally, I wouldn't mind being mayor or not as long as the player still had the same capabailities with public work projects and ordinancies! But at the same time that basically was being mayor in of itself? I feel as if the player could still do public work projects without being labelled as mayor it would be weird because its basically the same power you have as mayor in animal crossing new leaf but without the title. Overall I think it'd be simpler to remain mayor, I don't see whats to be gained by not having mayor authority in the game, but if the player is not mayor I hope the new gimmick will be able to live up to the whole mayor thing :D

I felt in ACNL with the mayor concept, I had infinitely more interaction and things to do being a mayor rather than just a villager in the previous Animal Crossing games. I felt with the Public Work Projects and mayoral duties, I had more customization of a town and much more control over what I want a town to look like, versus just being a villager.

So yes, I want the mayor concept to be in the Switch version.

I'd like to be more of a town adviser than mayor. I'd rather be a member of a community than someone who can shape it completely to my whim - it's a much different experience

no I dont want to unlock the cafe etc I want it to be there when I get there like the good ol cozy days

Its been said before and I'll say it too, I am up for being mayor, but Isabelle really deserves that position! She works hard enough for it.
