Which one of these Pokemon do you like more: Mew or Mewtwo?

Out of the two, I prefer more Mew, mainly because it's design is more appealing to me. I always find Mewtwo... Kinda ugly from how it looks to be honest, especially it's mega evolutions. I mean, in general I don't mind it and it's not like that I hate Mewtwo, it's just not a Pokemon that I would call my favorite.

Mew. It's far cuter. Such a simple design, but I would go as far to say it's still one of the cutest Pokemon, maybe even in my top 5.

It also felt like the first truly legendary Pokemon back in the day and I remember how hype and amazing it seemed since you needed to go to special events only in select places to get one (unlike now where there's so many of them and they're so trivial to obtain). It's definitely nostalgia as well as a prime example of Nintendo's manufactured rarity at its best but hey, it worked, that helped make it seem way more desirable, even now.

Mewtwo? Eh...

It's original Gen 1 sprite was just pure ugly (though most gen 1 sprites were). I hated it. It looked like he was straining to force out a poo.

I also remember only really finding out it existed after the elite four (that's how I remember anyway, I may be wrong and its mentioned during the game) so there was no build up to it, it was just kinda there, in a cave, like "hey, kid, there's another Pokemon, go get it", then I just throw a master ball at it and its done, caught, to no fanfare. It was just kind of the opposite of Mew hype to me, especially considering it's in the game, you can catch it on every playthrough, very obtainable, not really hyped up at all and chances are good you're probably just gonna throw a master ball at it.

Normal post-gen 1 Mewtwo is still """ugly""", but in a cool way. I wouldn't want to pet it but I would like to make it fight things.

Then there's just the general gen 1 oversaturation of which Mewtwo is one of the more popular Pokemon to be used as nostalgia bait. Regularly focusing specifically on Mewtwo in newer games (though the same can be said for gen 1 in general), he was unsurprisingly a big focus of Detective Pikachu, Pokken used him and his 'dark Mewtwo' thing as basically half their advertising strategy, Pokemon Go spammed Mewtwo everywhere in its advertising, Smash has Mewtwo, I don't recall as much fuss for any animated Pokemon movie as the ones where Mewtwo was back (in fact I was/am literally unaware to the release of any new Pokemon movies...Except those)...Then there's the overuse of that "what you do with your life" quote recently from that awful first Pokemon movie that I'm just sick of hearing/seeing...They're remaking the first movie too, of all movies they could have chose from, or just done a new one...Or just not. That's it, "just not".

I think generally Mewtwo is in the same tier as Pikachu and Charizard where I more hate the Pokemon because I'm just sick of seeing/hearing about it than actually having anything against the Pokemon itself.

I also favor Mew over Mewtwo.

Growing up with the Generation I games, Mew's rarity and all the rumors surrounding it gave it some real mystique and instilled in me a strong desire to acquire it. Unfortunately, it wasn't until Black & White that I got my first one through a trade, and then X & Y and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire where I got my own official ones through the legendary distributions.

While I like Mewtwo and its versatility with its Mega Evolutions and everything, it simply does not and cannot compare when it comes to the adoration my brain built up around Mew when I was a child.

Mewtwo. He is far more stronger than mew despite being it's clone. Plus I always that he was badass growing up. He's like the Undetaker of pokemon

Agree with this completely. I highly prefer Mewtwo over Mew, as someone who didn’t grow up with generation one Pokemon and started playing Pokemon in generation four instead. Also, imo, Mew’s design just looks too basic to me... I know Mewtwo’s design isn’t the best, but Mew just looks like a pink cat that floats everywhere. shrugs

Mew is the cuter of the two. Mewtwo is overrated to me and it's weird when Pokemon talk like humans (with the exception of Detective Pikachu, that was cute lol)

Normally I jump straight for the cute and when it comes to cuteness, Mew definitely takes the spot, but this time, I'm going for the cool and powerful, which is Mewtwo, hands down. I much prefer Mewtwo over Mew, since I use him more and I like its Mega Evolution (Y) not the fighting-type one. I never thought Mewtwo looked ugly, even in green, which oddly it was mew's sprite that looks more wonky.

I used to like Mew more for the the rarity, but over time I liked Mewtwo a lot more. Especially in Pokemon Adventures.

I'm going with Mew on this one. When my brother was playing generation one, I remember seeing in the guidebook Mew's picture and I instantly fell in love with it. Personally I like both Mew and Mewtwo and don't mind either of the two's appearances, but I still like Mew a lot better. I even have a Pokedoll of Mew that I've really come to love and is still sitting on my bed even to this day. I remember growing up with that Pokedoll and it's been through a lot and I'm still thankful my grandmother sew her arm up before it almost came undone. Still in good shape for the most part too. So yeah, I like Mew much better.

As a little girl in the late 90s - early 00s, of course I loved Mew more! The design's always appealed to me more, the in-game lore, the shiny, the personality in the anime, all of it. Mewtwo's just always seemed like a grumpy jerkwad. But I've grown to appreciate Mewtwo more as an adult, I'd say, but Mew still has my heart.
