Honestly no, I don't want more than 10 villagers. 15 in Gamecube felt like too much for me. I always forgot/neglected people. I like the smaller village feel.

I'd love to have more than 10! In GC you could have 15, and that was pretty rad. Like, the main reason I have multiple towns is because I can't fit all the villagers I love into one town lol

Would love it if you could have 15 villagers again in the new game. I prefer to have a big town with as
much villagers as possible.

I personally would be fine with 10, but I like the idea of more villagers. 12-15 seems like a good number. But I think there shouldn't be more than 15 villagers, because keeping up with all of them would become quite the hassle, as others have already said. All in all I think a few more villagers would be quite nice, if there will also be a bigger town.

The graphic Justin posted reminded me of another one, which I saw on here a while ago and I thought I'd dig it up again:
For reference, this is the size of the town for each game in 16x16 acres:
Pink: Wild World
Light Blue: New Leaf
Orange: City Folk
Green: GCN

I think that graphic is a bit misleading though, since 20 acres (NL) would be 5x4...so it wouldn't be both wider and longer than the 4x4 WW map, just one or the other. Same deal with CF (5x5) vs. GameCube (6x5).

Yeah, I agree, the map Dacroze posted above this post would be more accurate to the eye.

15 is a good amount. 20 or more would be overwhelming unless many new personalities were introduced.

I would be up for this! I had no idea that the original Gamecube one had 15. That would be nice to see again along with bigger maps.

**** yeah i've been wanting more. 12 or 15 seems healthy. Love having different animals hopefully ac switch don't dissapoint I know you're reading this Nintendo so get on that ****.

Mostly yes! The only thing that would discourage me would be keeping track of them all, like making sure no one leaves. But other than that, absolutely. I love way too many villagers to just pick 10 lol!

I would love there to be more than 10 villagers! That is, if the world gets bigger. If not, 10 seems like enough. I wouldn't want it to get too crowded

I would agree with others that 15 feels like a solid number. I think that amount makes it more acceptable to not get to know all of the villagers as well, which I feel makes the town more realistic as obviously nobody is friends with absolutely everyone where they live. They could also bring use some sort of vacationing mechanic to have another villager (similar to the islander in gamecube) to interact with, while still ensuring the town isn't too crowded.

I sure hope so. 15 would be my happy number but anything over 10 would be appreciated.

And hopefully a way bigger town to fit them all in.

I would enjoy it, but of course larger towns would be needed. It all just depends on how town layout will be on the switch and if there is more room for them

I think they'd need to change up villager personalities before increasing the cap much further. With only 8 total personalities the 'duplicates' become increasingly obvious and distracting

With Village Monsters I have a very high number of villagers - 30+ - but each one has its own very distinct personality and the map is big enough to accommodate them. Harvest Moon and Stardew follow this trend as well. I'd like to see AC go down this route as well, but I understand it's a big ask

I'd love to have 15 villagers again (as long as the town is big enough, of course), but I would be happy with twelve.
