More than 10 villagers?

More than 10 animal Villagers living in your town?

I'd definitely be happy if the cap was increased to 12. I can normally fit 10 villagers I like without any issue, but often times I'm choosing villagers over other villagers, so having an extra two spots would definitely be welcome.

This is probably the main feature that I hope they implement for the new game. It wouldn't have to be too much, probably 20 at the most. I don't really foresee them charging for additional villager slots, that's not really Nintendo's MO.

20 is far too much. It all depends on the town's size and how many acres a town is. I can see the maximum being 12 to 15.

I would be happy with 12 villagers, as long as our towns are much larger. Maybe Nintendo could make it similar to NL's 10 villager cap, where the tenth comes from an invite, but the 11th and 12th also come from invites or amiibo.

Well, 20 only if they make the town double the size of NL. Otherwise, I think 15 would be good enough to make the town feel more lively.

Moar Villagers

I'd love to be able to have more villagers then the 10 we're allotted now, the town map would need to be expanded a bit, but im not gonna complain about getting more room to work with, they can expand it a bunch and that'd be even better, if they do allow more villagers though i'd say they'd have to add more new villagers into the game as well

I'd like to have more villagers and have villagers randomly visit the town and the shops. It would liven things up quite a bit instead of talking to the same ones every single day.

Choosing the amount of villagers allowed in your town could be a mayor thing
Hey imagine if you could do town expansions just like houses

If we could go back to the 30 acres way back during Animal Crossing GC, then i'm sure 15 villagers will return too.

Thing is, the Switch is somewhat a powerful system. (Not as powerful as the competitors) So i'm sure it'll make a comeback.

Does anyone know the amount of acres in the games after the GameCube game?

For me, 20 is perfect. I'll have my 10 best friends and the other 10 will be the animals that are like the neighbours in real life that you pass by and sometimes exchange small talk with. They're the ones I wouldnt mind leaving and and being replaced with random animals. My 10 best friends can be my permanent villagers that I never allow to leave. I like the feeling of a populated town. I want more of the villagers to be hanging out at each other's houses, or shopping or doing other activities. If there are only 10, there wouldnt be enough animals to be doing all those things and still be walking around town making it feel lively and populated.

According to fandom wiki

GameCube had 16x16 (30 acres) (but grid wise, its more 5x5 referring more to the amount in a 16x16 area)

WW had oddly enough the same acres as GC version

CF had 5x5 (25 acres)

NL had 4x5 (20 acres)

So we went down, oddly enough

In each game after Wild World, wow... You'd think it would be the other way around.

But it’s odd, as another source has it as such

GameCube had 30 acres

City Folk had 25 acres

New Leaf had 20 acres

And Wild World had 16 acres

So I really don’t know what is right or not, if so, according to that info we’re fluctuating in acres

and another post here on the forum shows it in grids, shows it same width wise (besides WW being 4x4) but different legnth wise

I'm tentatively saying yes, but only if the town is much, much larger. Otherwise, I think 10 is a good amount for the size of the towns.

I'd say we need more than 10, especially if they add any new villagers. But we need a larger map too. 15 is a good number.

So I guess we can just safely assume that the amount of acres in the Switch game for towns will change again?
