I'd definitely be happy if the cap was increased to 12. I can normally fit 10 villagers I like without any issue, but often times I'm choosing villagers over other villagers, so having an extra two spots would definitely be welcome.
This is probably the main feature that I hope they implement for the new game. It wouldn't have to be too much, probably 20 at the most. I don't really foresee them charging for additional villager slots, that's not really Nintendo's MO.
20 is far too much. It all depends on the town's size and how many acres a town is. I can see the maximum being 12 to 15.
If we could go back to the 30 acres way back during Animal Crossing GC, then i'm sure 15 villagers will return too.
Thing is, the Switch is somewhat a powerful system. (Not as powerful as the competitors) So i'm sure it'll make a comeback.
Does anyone know the amount of acres in the games after the GameCube game?
According to fandom wiki
GameCube had 16x16 (30 acres) (but grid wise, its more 5x5 referring more to the amount in a 16x16 area)
WW had oddly enough the same acres as GC version
CF had 5x5 (25 acres)
NL had 4x5 (20 acres)
So we went down, oddly enough
In each game after Wild World, wow... You'd think it would be the other way around.
But it’s odd, as another source has it as such
GameCube had 30 acres
City Folk had 25 acres
New Leaf had 20 acres
And Wild World had 16 acres
So I really don’t know what is right or not, if so, according to that info we’re fluctuating in acres
and another post here on the forum shows it in grids, shows it same width wise (besides WW being 4x4) but different legnth wise
