my river only produces garbage

Can you post a full town map and circle where you are catching garbage?

Here is a relevant thread. This is not a bug:

The trash is through the entire red area.

I have been getting rubbish from the river mouths I am trying to complete my fish section of the museum but when ever I am looking for fish in the mouth of the river I just get rubbish :(

I figured out how to stop it. It was the waterfalls, for some reason. :(

I thought either I had too many bridges, or my river was too small. So I decided to rebuild another river the exact same width as my other one, still not connected to anything. I could catch fish out of that river so I figured size wasn’t the problem. So I destroyed the waterfalls, and now I’m getting fish again. I had a river exactly like this before with waterfalls, so I don’t know why it wasn’t working here, but it’s gone now.

It appears that if you have a waterfall, it must ultimately exit into one of your river mouths somewhere along the line, or the river will only produce trash.

If you remove the waterfall and leave it disconnected from a river mouth, you will probably only catch lake fish there.

Check the thread above. I believe your river needs to ultimately connect to an ocean or it will not produce fish. That is my assumption.
I've made several waterfalls with river ponds and fish spawn all the time. :)

There is a thing called a garbage pond that you can make to only catch garbage, maybe your layout is similar to its structure and that's why? D:

Some maps auto generate with a waterfall leading into a pound.
