If you have bad luck, you are just wasting all your nook miles. I have not seen anything good come out of the island, and I've been there 6 times. Lol. I'm really disappointed tbh. I wouldn't mind the randomness of it if it didn't cost 2000 nook miles. Nook miles are easy to earn a lot of earlier on but the higher tiered ones take a REALLY long time to earn the reward though.

I don't even think there are exclusive bugs/fish in there.. :( I just miss the island on New Leaf. I also hate that there's no storage box like there used to be.. I have to bring my tools, and then always run out of space.. It's probably my least favourite part of the game. Everything else is great, but the mystery tours just seems like a very incomplete feature.

Am I the only one who thinks this?

They can be somewhat but sometimes you can get lucky and get a tarantula or bamboo island, or a non native fruit one, just depends. And the nook miles will get easier to get, im in excess of 20k right now just gotta keep chugging along

I will agree that 2,000 is a bit much. 1,000 would have been more fair; or perhaps they dropped to 1,000 after some point.

I don’t mind them but it is a shame when you’ve spent 2,000 only to realise there’s not much to do.

On the other hand, it’s always good to farm extra iron nuggets as much as possible.

I just wish the 'rare' islands were a little more common. I'd really like to be able to see other non-native flowers more often too. I've been to 15+ islands and never seen any other flowers but my common ones. I want roses. :(

+1. Yeah. I have been to around 20 or so island tours by now and have gotten absolutely nothing outstanding out of them. All of the villagers I have seen have been no one I want, and the best items I have gotten have been bamboo shoots, plus pink, orange, and blue hyacinths. every other island is my native fruit, plus my native flower cosmos or hyacinths. I am dying for lilies. I am tempted to reset my island just to get them at this point..

kinda agree. the best island i’ve been to had hybrid hyacinths but every other island only has basic hyacinths/tulips and peaches, all of which i have lmao

i keep getting islands with my native fruit (peaches) and flowers, which is annoying! i have also come across a tarantula island, a bamboo island, and two cherry islands but i've been to 15ish islands and a good 80% of my visits are to islands that kinda look like my own.

i usually just get resources from all the rocks (you can get a ton of iron and gold nuggets sometimes), wood, and collect/sell all of the fruit if there isn't anything interesting.

Personally I find them really helpful! If I’m running low on resources, I hop onto an island and gather wood and rock materials! It’s a shame to get the same variant a few times in a row but they have helped me the most! I enjoy doing chores for the ticket and wondering what island I’ll end up with, even if it’s nothing special! ٩( 'ω' )و

I think they're really good for farming extra resources. It has kept me stocked up on Iron Nuggets.

The roll of dice is part of the mystery! On one hand if they were all filled with triple-hybrid tulicynths and shark infested waters it would get similarly dull.

I'm sure in Nintendo can up the randomness/rarity in future updates™.

Why 8 players and have no CO-OP games? Biggest missed opportunity of the entire online feature. To the point where it’s a little ridiculous

It’s honestly a joke. I’ve been to the island over 30 time only to see the same 4 islands 90% of the time. The only good part is that has been the DIY bottles on the beach and the random furniture that falls from the trees

i do wish there was more variety, but i haven't came across any of the "rare" islands yet.. the regular ones have been a good way to farm resources for me.. i rack up the nook miles pretty quickly by doing the daily tasks so it never really feels like a waste for me to spend those miles right now

I've been doing pretty well with them. I've gotten bamboo, sharks, diy bottles, rare river fish and talked to random villagers. Then I got a trash island and unlocked trash diy which was pretty funny. I like it to get materials and I always carry 30 max of each material so when my tools explode, it's no biggie. Sure, I use more inventory space doing that.

I limit myself to 2 tours a day than burning through my nook miles.

My only gripe is that I can't go with friends to the mystery islands. I really liked that aspect a lot in new leaf.

For me it's been about 90% native fruit, 9% Bamboo and 1% a peach island which I was so excited about. I've lost count how many nook miles I've used up as go at least 5 times a day!!

I love them, actually! Been going to at least 3-4 each day to farm crafting materials.

Same. I've just been selling my tickets to those who pay a lot for this reason lol

I disagree tbh - sure they’re not the same as the old mystery tours from NL but they’re extremely useful for gaining crafting resources and rare flowers for your island, plus the finding villagers to invite to move in aspect is really cool and exciting IMO. we also need to remember it’s still early days and we could end up with another island we can visit that might include the tours we’re used to! it’s only been a few days, we never know!

I really like them. I just wish a villager was always there even if you couldn’t invite them. Just so you could meet and talk to them.
