I have another puzzle like yesterday. This time, there are two words to spell. The good news is that you don’t have to do math problems to crack the codes. But every problem has a number aside. That number is the order of the letter in the answer. For example, if the answer was MoonGlow, and the associated number is 3, the letter is O.

The mystery word is:

___
#3
___
#2
___
#8
___
#12
___
#6
___
#4
___
#0
___
#11
___
#9
___
#7
___
#10
___
#1
___
#5

The assoiated numbers to each space are:

  • 0 - it’s a space
  • 1 - 4
  • 2 - 2
  • 3 - 1
  • 4 - 3
  • 5 - 3
  • 6 - 8
  • 7 - 1
  • 8 - 1
  • 9 - 5
  • 10 - 6
  • 11 - 5
  • 12 - 1
And here are the questions. They are all related to Earth Science.

  1. Quartz, feldspar, and mica are all the minerals that build into this rock.
  2. The entire crust and the upper mantle are part of this layer.
  3. A process that breaks down or dissolves rocks into smaller rocks or sediment. It’s part of erosion.
  4. Rivers, lakes, and oceans are this type of water.
  5. The least common type of rocks in the crust. They are more common at the surface.
  6. One of the two factors to climate. It explains why Florida is hot and Colorado is cold.
  7. One of the two types of small and non-moving freshwater bodies. They are usually larger and deeper than the other.
  8. These clouds produce rain or snow.
  9. The type of plate boundaries where both sides slide against each other rather than come together or pull apart.
  10. The rate of water flow based on volume.
  11. Coal, oil, and natural gas are all this type of non-renewable resource.
  12. The layer of the Earth’s atmosphere where air is the thickest. It’s also where weather occurs.
