Darth, locking this thread based on your views is completely inappropriate. It's like locking a thread that discuss a religion you hate.

We're still thinking about a spam contest... The last one was great.

Indeed. Doing that is like being a president of a nation, and arresting people just because they think differently than you do. And that's just not what a leader is supposed to do. So, keep it open, and let the people decide. :yes:

now everyone, this is becoming a pointless discussion and has wandered far fftopic: now lets all get back to the original point

were talking about a spam contest, the only off topic you can get is by not spamming.

I know I don't have more power, but all I was doing is saying what I think and defending Darth's choice. A lot of times on NSider, IF Support, mods post in threads and when they feel its not good to have they lock it. Belive it or not the members have a lot of power in the forum. I choose to use it.

when i said He i refered to DG, and by more power i was takling about DG, not you at all. i was just explaining that there was a little more to the story. i think if 2 admins think the topic is alright but a mod dosnt than the mod shouldnt outrule the admins. and no im not saying the admins said "we give this topic our seal of approval" im saying that if they saw a problem in it they would probably have locked it. it was totally my fault when i said he, i should have been more specific. and if anyone thinks i hate DG, that is just not the case, i think DG rocks, i just didnt agree with what he did this time, DG is a smart individual and usually makes smart desicions. since this isn't a new idea and has been done before and has been fun i think this topic holds water, so to lock it just because you dont like it wasnt right. so again im sorry for not being specific and sorry for the confusion

I hate some of the staffs ideas even DG's, whom I reccomened for sage if anyone remembers. There is no cunfusion. Lets say I was staff, what if someone was being racist or homophobic and starting huge fight of a topic that doesn't belong anyhwere close to the members there. I would lock it, I don't have a single doubt in my mind that any other staff members would lock it.

If someone doesn't like somthing, say spam. They lock it because they don't like it because it is not good for the forum. And that is the moderators job, making desicisions(SP?) good for the forum.

Also just because Bul and Smart are admins doesn't mean they can't be wrong.

I would PREFER it if you guys would not comment on admin actions in public. PMs are more acceptable, however. I reserve the right to lock or unlock a thread based on common sense and fact, but not on pure whim.

What are you trying to say. The only reason I couldn't undestand you is either you aren't making the meaning clear, or, no offense, the puntuation is fogging it up.

yes storm dropping this was my original point, and like i said before, if you have a question about something PM them and then you can find out that way, this was just meant to be a poll topic where you exlpain why or why not you want a spam contest Mmk? good.

Overview of what im saying

1. Do not ask questions in posts, instead PM the person your asking questions, or if you do not understand a post, do not hesitate to PM that user to clear things up for you

2. All discussions in this topic from now on have to be directly relating to the spam contest, meaning do not quote someone and say "heh thatzorz r0x" or however people say it.

that sidenote was true about me, i hate 1337 speek, but that was a example, if you talk about the contest and then have a sidenote, you can for example reply to many peoples posts like expanding that post

as you can see that post included 1. For or Against spam contest, 2. a sidenote containing his feelings about something 3. replying to 2 posts (I used SoAndSo as a example.



Now moving on

Some people here do not know what a spam contest is
so we shal find out what it is right now

1. The spam contest is held in The Dump, meaning it will not add to postcount

2. The spam contest is held in 1 topic

3. Whoever made the most posts in that 1 topic wins

4. The winner gets the title of Mr. Spam (Well im not sure if this is still true, but thats what the prize was before)


that should clear some things up for some people
