Welp, this just released. I think it has really REALLY nice UI design, and some of the games are really fun, my favourites being:

Ice Climber
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 3
Balloon Fight
Pro Wrestling
Yoshi

I think its pretty cool, but I just wish it wasn't the NES. I know they'll definitely add more consoles later, but you just become kinda numb to the whole 8-bit aesthetic after all these indie-games and rereleases.

Your thoughts and favourites?

Yeah, not a fan of NES games, most of the games didn't age well. My fav so far is River City Ransom, i've probably played that the most. The other decent ones I've played so many times, they've kinda grown stale to me, and a lot of them I got for free on my 3DS, being an ambassador and all.

I watched either an IGN or GameXplain video the other day that demonstrated that it's very easy to get the Japanese versions of the games, too (just make a Japanese account and download, you don't need to pay again). They are often harder or more polished because of the disc drive editions. I think I'd have to go that route when I get a Switch because I played the majority of these NES games when they were buyable on the Wii.

Agree the UI is classy. :)

I had a lotta fun playing Ice Hockey with a friend but after the initial fun died there was nothing that I felt like playing anymore tbh...

By the way, is there a way to swap the controls over to the other person online in single player games? I would love to play through The Legend of Zelda that way but seems like the other player can only spectate and clap :(

Yup, suspend the game and press Y.

I have a question. I shut off auto-renewal, before realizing that if I ever bought a new code, it might not count it (I know, I’m dumb). Does anyone know if shutting off auto-renewal affects actual passes that you redeem from retailers? I mean it won’t really make a difference, because I’ll redeem just minutes after the expiration and redownload my back ups, but I don’t want it to affect my NES games.

I would be more excited if they announced gamecube games. I mean Chinese nvidia shield tv's already have Twilight Princess, and Mario Sunshine running on the emulators made by nvidia and nintendo.

^Yeah, I wouldn't call NES games hard to find in some form anymore but Gamecube prices for virtually anything are incredible. That would be a better product to promote the Gamecube controller adapter than a single fighting game.
