Nintendo Switch now has a Twitch app

It only took them 4 years but it's here. You can find the Twitch app on the eshop.

Still surprised it took it so long for it to be added, honestly.

If it's anything like he YouTube app where you have to have the clock synced to the Internet, I'll never get any use out of it because I'm a time traveler in Animal Crossng games and never have the clock synced. It's good that they've finally added the feature for people who will be able to use it though.

I don't know if it works like that. What I can say is that the UI is the same as the one used on smart TVs.

Oh, interesting! I don't have YouTube on it right now so I probably won't use Twitch either. I'm okay with it just being on my phone. I wish they could've gotten Netflix back though... That would've been handy.

Nope, that's a different function. The ability to stream is tied to another application, native to these consoles. This Twitch app is just for watching streams (if you have a smart tv, the app on the switch is identical to the ones on your smart tv).

Kind of useless to me since I watch streamers mostly when I'm playing on my Switch but I'm glad it's added!

neat, I'll probably use it when I don't wanna watch on my phone or pc.
my only issue is that you can't use/see chat and the stream at the same time.

I think you can see the chat but not use it (I mean, you can use it if you have your phone in hand, but the only purpose of using both at the same time is to watch the stream on a big screen)

Not a fan of Twitch tbh and therefore not planning in downloading the app but it's nice that Nintendo added it for those who wanted it for so long now.

I used to never use Twitch, but started using it A LOT to watch people within the last year. It's really nice to feel the presence of community even if you're not talking on it. I had false hope this would allow you to stream too, but I should know better with the Switch's hardware. Still nice to watch portably though!

This picture is from the Eshop and its hilarious to me that this picture has treasure islands on it. I guess Nintendo knows about it ? Or maybe they just did not notice.
