Nintendo Direct 3/27/25

Rhythm Heaven AND Tomodachi Life at the same time?!
Best. Day. EVER! After watching it last night I couldn't sleep. These two are on my Top 10 game franchises.

Tomodachi Life may not look it, but the previous 3DS game sold over 6.72 million copies to date. This is also technically the third game in the series. The first one was TOmodachi Collection from 2009, then the 3DS game was released on 2013.

As for Rhythm Heaven, I'm so happy Tsunku is healthy and able to work on a new series. In 2014, Tsunku announced he had laryngeal cancer and had his vocal chords removed. Tsunku provided the composition and vocals to these games.

Didn't know this was happening XD

I swear I've heard of Dragon Quest before, but never played. Looks majestic.
Raidou looks really interesting! Reminds me of the yokai game.
Shadow labyrinth looks really fun too! Dark pacman here we go.

As someone who watched wander over yonder, patatpon lil creatures looks familiar. They're so cute.
I've never played story of seasons but this one really interested me!!
I never played metroid either but that looks really cool! I also did not know Samus was a woman 😳 or like didn't put samus the girl I've seen outside the suit with yhe suit.

disney villain cafe??

Witchbrook looks fantastic!! I'll definitely play that. It gives me bloomtown vibes.
THQ Nordic looks so cute and fun too! Ve a lil old man an his cane. Wacking beasts with it.

The ZA update was really interesting! Also wish? Jirachi?
Those crows in the Valley game look cute why are they the enemy DX
That super hero game just keeps reminding me I need to watch venom. 😏
I've never played tamogatchi life, but it does look kinda interesting.

witchbrook looked cozy and cute, excited for that to come out ! I'm also (tentatively) looking forward to the SoS remake, I never played the original but I thought it looked pretty charming on the direct , been v disappointed with the last few SoS though so we shall see..

and always excited for any dragon quest remakes of course !

There wasn't a ton that grabbed my interest this time around. The big highlight for me was seeing more of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and the new psychic abilities in it, plus the red and black suit at the very end! Definitely weird there still isn't a release date yet, maybe it'll be coming out on the Switch 2 as well and they'll reveal it in a week from now? Otherwise, Shadow Labyrinth looks interesting, keeping my eye on it. I definitely wouldn't have expected something like Everybody's Golf to ever wind up on a Nintendo console. Also happy for everybody who wanted a new Rhythm Heaven and/or Tomodachi Life and are now getting their wish! Knowing there will be Switch games releasing in 2026 is wild to think about, though.

Now to look forward to the Switch 2 Direct next week!

Usually, I don't expect a ton of things to interest me in a direct but this one was great for me!!

Starting off with the new AI: The Somnium Files game that focuses on Date, I was already satisfied right off the bat I actually screamed so loud in disbelief 😭 I'll be getting it on steam instead of the switch tho

Then Tamagotchi Plaza!!!! Basically looks like a modern 3D Tamagotchi corner shop which I loved those games on the DS so I'm excited for that!! Some of those newer tamagotchis looked super cute...

RHYTHM HEAVENNN!!!! finally a new one for the first time in literally so long I'm so happy

and lastly looking forward to the new Tomodachi Life!!! I didn't play the previous game myself, but it always looked really fun so I can't wait to try it out for myself when it comes out :]

very pleased with this direct... I will be making purchases...

Witchbrook has a release date?!?!?!?!? I’m staggered. Absolutely the #1 announcement for me.

I never played the original Tomodachi Life, but all the hype has me tentatively interested.

I’m pretty bummed about the Grand Bazaar remake. I’m tired of constant remakes and I was hoping Animal Parade would be next in line. Maybe it will be good somehow?

Fantasy Life still looks rough. The frame rate seemed to be struggling. I was so excited for that one when it was announced but my expectations have been slowly lowering.

Also…..I have to say……dark Pac Man was not on my bingo card.

I was really disappointed with yesterday's Direct. I was hoping for a little hint of the next Mario Kart!
That will be next week during the Switch 2 Direct. We already know that Mario Kart 9 (I am not abbreviating it because MK will automatically be Mortal Kombat to me) and that next week’s Direct will be all about the Switch 2.

Witchbrook looks super cute and right up my alley, so I'm excited for it!! I hadn't heard anything about it before, so that was a cool trailer for me.

I for one am excited about the Harvest Moon remake because it's a series I've been meaning to get into for quite a long time. I just don't know where to get started and get overwhelmed sometimes by all the titles and remakes etc lol
But in general, I think having access to more titles on more recent systems creates more entry points for new players like me, and maybe if it does well, then they can keep developing a new game, which sounds overdue.
So, my question for all the HM/SoS fans, is this a good entry to start on?

NEW RHYTHM HEAVEN LETS GOOOOO
+ tomodochi life too! it's a big relief to see that they're keeping the miis with their text to speach voices and not going the switch sports route
I'm not a Metroid fan but prime 4 looks really cool so far, i've heard a lot of good things about the series and i might try it out
its a really small thing but I like that they brought back the garbage cans for legends ZA
