Aya Kyogoku touched on the subject of potentially connecting Animal Crossing: New Horizons to its paltry, uninteresting, dreadful, benign mobile counterpart Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.

https://mynintendonews.com/2019/06/...re-already-collaboration-items-being-planned/

Kyogoku says that ?we want to make sure to separate the gameplay because we feel they?re two different types of games. Though they won?t have any sort of direct connectivity, there are already collaboration items being planned for the two games?.

I would guess the Nintendo team responsible for New Horizons is appalled at what DeNA came up with in Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp as we all are. Good!

I did like some of the new furniture/clothing items, though and was kind of hoping they'd make an appearance in NH.

The bigger news here is the 'there are already collaboration items being planned for the two games' line honestly.

Does that mean items in each game as a bonus for playing the other game? Or would that count as a 'direct connection'? I'm leaning towards the former and ruling out direct connectivity just means don't expect to transfer items and bells directly between or something.

Also, be sure to read the source article -- there's other big news in there like confirmation of choosing villager house locations as we've been speculating!!! No new personality types confirmed too.

oh thank god i can stop playing it now. I hope the 'collaboration items' just means, items from pocket camp are in new horizons, but it doesn't matter one bit if you played pocket camp or not, wouldn't that be just dreamy :p

THANK GOD

i didn't ever grind pocket camp because it was so rushed and it felt like the connection between you and the villagers was phony. the crafting system felt like you needed to constantly search for new items and leaf tickets were hard to come by. idk, i hated pocket camp. i'm glad it's not a big collab

I'm curious about the PocketCamp ammenities like the treehouse or modern apartment being included in NewHorizons. I don't see reason they should be included, but if they were I wonder about their interactivity. lot of potential for cute villager photo ops ~

(also that source ign article is alleviating so much stress I've been having about NH, not gonna lie)

Thank you for that fantastic news.
I am now hopeful. :)

Excellent news. It's what I've always wanted.

After reading more, it seems that we might be stuck with the first two animals for good. :(

Surely they wouldn't take out our right to choose who we want there?

So I was doing all this Pocket Camp playing for nothing? Sad. Real sad.

I will still continue playing it, however.

I had the same thought initially but I think this line can put those worries away: 'Those other Islanders that arrive with you can’t be forced off the island, but they can leave if it’s their wish, Nogami said.

They just mean the same way villagers have always worked -- you can never truly force them out (amiibo aside), they have to ask to leave eventually. Perhaps they might stay longer than other villagers do though?

That's still a possibility.

I'm honestly glad there's no connectivity. I didnt want to.be locked out of content because I never really got into Pocket Camp.

Shame, honestly thought it would be handled more in the way that let’s go p/e was handled and that it was an option later in game, and not required for gameplay....

Yeah, I'm not really too worried. As long as I get to have a few old favorites there. :)

Oh boy I am so happy xD I played pockt camp likr a week but I hated the microtransactions so much. All the good stuff is locked behind this random.cookies. That was one of my fears - I like the new game more and more :)

That article is reassuring about a lot of things. I think the more information we’ve been given/shown since the trailer the better I’m feeling about the game, which makes me super hopeful that in the next 9 months I’m gonna fall even more in love with it!! I trust Nintendo on this one, despite the delays and such.

Yay! I also hated pocket camp. I think I played it once and then immediately uninstalled. I hope that if there are items you can only get by playing PC they're not ones I want!

Something to add here, it might not be connecting at all to pocket camp due to compatibly with models, since it uses new leaf’s models and not new horizon’s models, it was doomed to begin with once that trailer was reviled at E3.

YES. Thank you for that link, Justin. This will make many people very happy, me included. How many times have we all gotten a villager that we love and then them plotting in a terrible spot?

The more customization I'm hearing about for NH, the more hype I'm feeling.

I am so happy that there will be no direct link, although those collaborative items still make me nervous as it does imply some sort of link.. Let’s hope this just means the same type of items will be released in both games.

I’m wondering though whether this basically means that certain premium items sold in Pocket Camp will also be sold in New Horizons, which opens up the question of in-game purchases..

Well they came out with this news just in time before I invested all my money in the new adorable cookie.
I'm a bit sad there is no direct link, because I kinda wanted to transfer some items and clothing.. But oh well, i'm glad they are planning cross over items because a lot of PC items are super cute.
