No More Birthday Bells?

It's my bday today, and I'm no longer super active but I remember always getting 70 bells on my birthday, even if I didn't log on.

Did we change this? I looked around a bit but didn't see anything else.

i've been inactive for months and then gone back after my birthday and i still got bells. i didn't get any bells this year. i've been more active than i was before

Actually, like Wildtown said, it’s a hit or miss on whether you’ll get birthday bells each year, regardless of inactivity. I know I have been super active for a year+ and didn’t receive any bells on May 5th this year, but a couple years ago I wasn’t here and I recall receiving them. It’s just bugged and probably isn’t going to be fixed anytime soon.

That’s interesting. But I do know that if you’re not here for your birthday, you won’t get your birthday Bells. I didn’t get my birthday Bells in 2016 because I was completely inactive at the time.

It's mentioned in The Bell System: Beginner's Guide thread that birthday bells are currently unavailable. However, the last edited stamp is dated 2015. I've checked this thread in the past and the edit about the birthday bells are, to me, a relatively recent change.

For what it's worth, I did not receive birthday bells this year. I have received birthday bells every previous year, even during my 2018 TBT hiatus.

I think the staff can edit posts without changing the edit stamps. I remember one time seeing the Bell Tree Rules and Guidelines with an edit stamp in 2014, despite changes in 2015.
