Nobody is asking to leave...

Well without time travel it will make it harder to wait on a certain villager you really don't like to move out. Trust me the RNG in this game is very bad with how it picks whatever villager to move out.
Oh, I'm well aware lol. It has been a brutal grind to get the villagers I have already, and even then I'm a little nervous at how getting the last two I want is going to play out. I'm afraid of getting into a scenario where I have 9 dreamies, go island hopping for the tenth and am unable to find them and the plot autofills.
Sadly not this scenario either. I play both day and night daily, so I always encounter every villager outside at least once per day. They are getting thought bubbles, it's just never to move. Today for example, the thought bubble (not the ones you encounter AFTER talking to a villager, those are never to move) was to do a treasure hunt...and yesterdays was to change a catchphrase.

The move out thought bubble *should* be above a villager as soon as you boot up (if you're within move-out timeframe), but it has all been games and requests.
That hasn't been the case for me either lately. I keep track of how many days I am between move-outs so I know when it's safe to talk to thinking villagers and when I need to wait for an autosave first, and this most recent cycle, like I said, either I have no bubble when I start up, or it's about something random.

Do you have Sanrio villagers right now? The ONLY thing I've done different is move in the Sanrios...and I know in NL they pinged you less than a normal villager.

I think the move out bubble has been normal for me, and I do not have Sanrio villagers on my island right now, so I will pay more attention and see if the mechanic is the same for me. That would be very unfortunate.

Sometimes they just don't have a bubble for a while. There was one day where I played multiple times and the villager didn't have the thought bubble until the third time I was playing, and the villager was out walking around both of the other times I was playing. I'm not sure what causes this, but you might just need to check in a few times a day. Of course today the villager had a thought bubble right away. It's a hit and miss thing as far as I can tell.

FINALLY! Toby asked to move a couple minutes ago...so that's roughly between 3-4 weeks waiting on that one as opposed to what I'm used to being 2-3 weeks.

Like I said its the RNG that makes it annoying, but congrats! That must've been really stressful because I know from experience.

what an odd difference. Do you think it is just because the Sanrio amiibos worked in a similar way in new leaf?
