Paths! I don't know what to do with them.

Having paths with patterns = difficult to do well in my town because of it's shape. I have OCD about symmetry which makes it really difficult to lay patterns.

Flower paths = look way too hectic and breed ridiculously fast.

No paths = Grass wears so much that the town looks like a desert. Also difficult to place PWP as they look randomly dotted about without paths.

I really don't know what to do here. Any advice? Has anyone gone without paths, how's that worked out for you?

I was hesitant about having pattern paths for a while because 1) It seemed like a lot of work xD, and 2) When you want everything to be perfect, it doesn't turn out right either...

Anyhow, I think using pattern paths is a good idea because they do give your town a lot of structure, especially for PWP's like you said. Plus, it's pretty easy to at least connect the major buildings first, then, as you become more experienced, connect your house, villagers houses, etc...no path is symmetrical across the entire town...at least that sounds nearly impossible.

I have an annoying town shape too, so don't worry! There's a path for everyone c:

You could have natural looking paths by placing hedges on either side of a walkway :) That never fails to look nice.

Totally sympathetic to your symmetry problems. Maybe if you got a very simple pattern, something like a big stepping stone, you wouldn't even have to lay them down continuously. I think the nintendo site has a tile like that.

I just made a simple pattern path for my town... It doesn't have a lot of parts, just one tile of cute bricks. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but I took it slowly, starting by making paths between my villagers houses, and then working from there. Now, I can't imagine my town without them... It looks so much better, and more modern with the paths.

Lily, what is your order of importance? Flowers, paths, or trees? Whichever you select, lays those first. Then, work on adding secondaries, etc. Good luck, Lily!
